Report – Mitrovic Adamant His Move To Fulham Already Agreed

The Mirror on their live blog are reporting that Newcastle striker Aleksandar Mitrovic says that a deal to transfer him to Fulham this summer has already been agreed.

The report says the Serbian is adamant a deal has already been agreed, but Fulham and Newcastle have not agreed on a fee yet with Newcastle wanting to wait after the World Cup to sell Mitro.

And the striker has played well for Serbia in their two games so far, and he has one of the two goals Serbia have scored.

Aleksandar Mitrovic – after scoring a great opening goal against the Swiss

Newcastle want at least £20M for the striker, but Fulham have not yet matched that figure.

Here’s some of the Mirror report:

Aleksandar Mitrovic is on a collision course with Newcastle United.

The Serbian striker is adamant that a deal is struck with Fulham – only the Cottagers have not yet met Rafa Benitez’s valuation.

Mitrovic shone under Slavisa Jokanovic and his 12 goals played a major part in them winning promotion.

Newcastle wanted £20M for the striker but so far that figure has not been met.

It seems almost a certainty that Newcastle will sell Mitrovic but it may not be to Fulham if they cannot come up with the £20M Rafa wants to help fund some of the incoming transfers this summer.

The notion there could be some kind of a blow-up at Newcastle with Mitrovic and the management is a little far-fetched.

That should not happen, but once the World Cup is over then Newcastle will expect to get offers in for the striker who has looked good up front for Serbia at the World Cup.

With Serbia losing 2-1 to Switzerland in their last game Serbia could be eliminated at the group stage along with Costa Rica.

Their final game is against group leaders Brazil.

If Fulham buy Mitrovic for £20 mill, which I think is pretty likely. What does that say about us not being able to stretch past £15 mill for any player, ever?

Given what happened with sissoko we would obviously be mad to have agreed to sell him prior to the world cup. So this is probably nonsense. Maybe an agreement in principle unless a far bigger offer came in. Mind u didn’t Sels cost us 5mill and we are selling for half that??

Could it be that Mitro’s agent’s come to some arrangement with Fulham? If so, Mitro’s on a collision course with Rafa who’ll want to get at least £20m for him. If Fulham can’t or won’t afford and Mitro insists it’s them or nobody else……. Stand well back and wait for the fireworks.

But geremi mate Ashley has to factor in wages (unlike other clubs like Huddersfield and Brighton who seem to be able to out spend us at ease and have had stuff all years in the prem league relative to us!).

We’d probably be able to get more than £20m for him. In no way would a deal have been agreed before the WC. They’ll be competition for his signature but if Fulham want him they should pay the going rate which is at lest £20m.

No to Ritchie swap deal for king. He’s one of our better players so what I see the point in selling when you’re supposed to be reinforcing to improve. Probably Sunday toilet paper but still.

Munster – I do appreciate the wage bill and squad size, however it is entirely self – inflicted. If you insist on buying cheap, unproven gambles and doubling or tripling the going rate they’re getting in their current leagues, it’s a recipe for disaster when 80% turn out not good enough and can’t be shifted due to stupidly long and undeserved contracts.

It’s a shocking business model and has worked for 1 year out of the 10 or so we have been using it. Imagine where we might be now had we bought half the players, but doubled the money spent and brought in better quality.

I very much doubt Mitrovic has agreed to join Fulham himself with the World Cup (The biggest stage to put yourself in the shop window in world football) here. Himself and his agent will both know he’s likely to get attention from much bigger clubs than Fulham during and after the World Cup so I don’t believe this for a second. If anything Newcastle have probably tried to push through a deal by releasing his asking price just before the World Cup started but the player and his agent want to see what else comes up. That’s My guessing. £20m to a premier league rival….Not a chance.
