The Mirror on their live blog are reporting that Newcastle striker Aleksandar Mitrovic says that a deal to transfer him to Fulham this summer has already been agreed.
The report says the Serbian is adamant a deal has already been agreed, but Fulham and Newcastle have not agreed on a fee yet with Newcastle wanting to wait after the World Cup to sell Mitro.
And the striker has played well for Serbia in their two games so far, and he has one of the two goals Serbia have scored.
Aleksandar Mitrovic – after scoring a great opening goal against the Swiss
Newcastle want at least £20M for the striker, but Fulham have not yet matched that figure.
Here’s some of the Mirror report:
Aleksandar Mitrovic is on a collision course with Newcastle United.
The Serbian striker is adamant that a deal is struck with Fulham – only the Cottagers have not yet met Rafa Benitez’s valuation.
Mitrovic shone under Slavisa Jokanovic and his 12 goals played a major part in them winning promotion.
Newcastle wanted £20M for the striker but so far that figure has not been met.
It seems almost a certainty that Newcastle will sell Mitrovic but it may not be to Fulham if they cannot come up with the £20M Rafa wants to help fund some of the incoming transfers this summer.
The notion there could be some kind of a blow-up at Newcastle with Mitrovic and the management is a little far-fetched.
That should not happen, but once the World Cup is over then Newcastle will expect to get offers in for the striker who has looked good up front for Serbia at the World Cup.
With Serbia losing 2-1 to Switzerland in their last game Serbia could be eliminated at the group stage along with Costa Rica.
Their final game is against group leaders Brazil.
