Newcastle Top Target Turns Down All Offers From China – Wants To Join Newcastle

News from the Italian media TUTTOmercatoWEB today that Newcastle are ready to move back in for their central midfield target – 25-year-old Juventus midfielder Stefano Sturaro.

The report is that our first bid for 13M was turned down and Newcastle are ready to raise that to  14M and include bonuses of 2M – although Juventus want 18M for their Italian International.

With Mikel Merino leaving the club shortly Rafa will want to bring in a replacement quickly and the 25-year-old could challenge immediately for a position in Newcastle’s midfield.

Newcastle to increase bid for 25-year-old Juventus midfielder Stefano Sturaro

Rafa is said to be very keen to get the Italian to Newcastle and he will know about him after managing Napoli for two years in the Italian League from 2013.

The Italian has been linked with the Magpies in recent weeks after reports Rafa Benitez is keen to bring the player to St James’ Park.

That seems a good offer although West Ham have been reported to be very keen on signing the Italian and gazumping Newcastle’s bid by offering the full 18M for the player.

Leicester City are another Premier League club interested in Sturaro.

Let’s hope that Rafa has already held some discussions with Stefano and he has set his heart on joining Rafa’s revolution at Newcastle.

Comments welcome.

There seems to be an over use of the word “keen” in that piece

RobLeenio – good attitude. Yes, getting Brazil in the QF, really England should not fear this, you have the players to beat any nation.
Saying that from a Swedish perspective it feels at this moment like any country is beatable though the Swiss I am sure are thinking the same.
    Looking forward.

I think England may practise their bus parking manoeuvres against Belgium, just to consolidate a few issues in defensive concentration. But we should nick the win if it’s to be had. Theres no point in putting off meeting a team like Brazil, there’s no easy route and besides I’d rather we knock them out in the ko round than face them in the final. Would be difficult to stop us if we did that.

Why is it every time we are link with a player WHU are always another team after the same player!?

More rubbish from the countless press who know more than the Newcastle officials!

The striker Bas Dost, 70 goals in 90 games for Sporting Lisbon,
has rescinded his contract with the club for “just cause”.

He is reported as talking to Fenerbahce Sevilla Milan Newcastle

Lol.. We are no where near signing anyone. Southampton are signing 16m.

While whoever we target, as long as there’s competition, we are out of the running. Doesn’t even need to be a premier league club competition. We’d lose even to a championship club. What a joke.

    Southampton signing 16m players seems
a bit OTT- where are they going find digs for
that lot on the south coast in summer ?

With Bas Dost having his contract cancelled
It’s who offers the best signing on fee + wages
which still probably puts us at the back of the queue

Jib, that’s the sad reality – we cannot compete in an open auction judging by past transfer windows.

BUT we do have a couple of weapons in our arsenal, namely we’ve been publicly linked with Dost for years, so he knows he’s wanted here, and also Rafa is very persuasive

Ah, Tsunki – I love a good Bas Dost story, me. I hope we sign him, just so I can say Bas Dost’s name given any kind of excuse.

Bas Dost – it’s a great name, sounds like he should have been in an 80s ska band

Also, he’s not a bad player. Could be interesting.

You have to go for the win, Sweden are no mugs and you’d have to play Brazil eventually anyway, or Portugal, Spain, Argentina or Croatia.
