Newcastle Showing Signs Of Intelligence This Summer – Outgoing Deal Finally Agreed

As well as Rafa Benitez and Lee Charnley bringing players into the club this summer, many players will leave and quite a few of those for transfer fees.

Those transfer fees are essential because Rafa can then spend that money on new arrivals at the club.

So it’s good news today that Porto are reported to have finally agreed a fee for Newcastle defender Chancel Mbemba.

Good news – Newcastle agree a €8M deal with Porto for Chancel Mbemba

Newcastle wanted to recover the £8M they paid Anderlecht for him three years ago.

It seems we have agreed  a fee of £7M with Porto to let the impressive defender leave the club for a massive opportunity in Portugal.

O Jogo has a front-page story out today on the deal having been done – Porto wanted to pay €7M and Newcastle wanted €9M so guess what – yes they cut the difference and settled for €8M.

That’s a quick and easy way to reach an agreement and prevent things from being in limbo for weeks and sometimes months.

It’s called getting the job done.

€8M is precisely £7M in today’s exchange rate.

O Jogo have a story out on the deal having been done and dusted and should be announced in the next day or two.

And it’s an excellent career move for the likable and talented Chancel Mbmeba.

And it’s good news that Newcastle are starting to get some deals agreed – outgoing as well as incoming.

Let’s keep it up.

Maybe they should take the same approach when buying a player too rather than pisssing about all the time haggling over pence

What I don’t get is, if the reports are true, how can rondon be second choice to plea. Both completely different strikers.

And £16m for rondon is disgraceful. He’s barely better than Joselu and I say barely only because he is more physical.

Jib from earlier – I can’t agree about the box office using an 084 number. It’s an absolute disgrace because it costs a fortune from a mobile and normally you are on hold for absolutely ages. Why can’t they use an 03 number which is still non-geographic but included in most call packages – this is what a lot of insurance companies and the like use.

My brother inquired about ST’s and forget conspiracy theories – there’s very few left. The vast majority renewed theirs.
Why would they not? We finished tenth last season and under Rafa will be pushing for a higher finish this season. A vocal few might call the fans names but the reality is most supporters see past Ashley when it comes to supporting the team.
That doesn’t mean any one of them are happy with him, it just means they see the bigger picture. Newcastle is for life, owners come and go.
SJP will be full again next season as it always is. Tenth was brilliant first season back; get behind the team and see where we can finish this season.
Nobody likes Ashley ffs. Supporting Newcastle is not supporting Ashley and it never has been. We were there before him and we’ll be there when he eventually goes.
Demanding boycotts is never going to work. It’s a vocal minority, nothing more. There’s two choices. Support the team or don’t. Get over it.

Good luck to Chancel – pity that you didn’t get more game time here but enjoy Porto and the sunshine. Oh but we have that here as well, for now

What you say may well be true
It was the motivation I was arguing really
Lesh (as always ) says the motivation is greed
I think it’s more of a dissuasive thing.
    They’d rather you didn’t fone.
