Fascinating News On Kenedy Deal – Newcastle May Try To Make It Permanent This Summer

Most of us were hoping that we could Kenedy back on Tyneside somehow – for next season.

But if Chelsea really wanted to sell him this summer, it didn’t look promising and with other richer clubs said to be interested we didn’t think we had much of a chance – maybe only 50-50.

But the news last night that Newcastle have Kenedy taking a medical today and the loan deal has an option to buy clause in it – so it looks like a great deal.

Lee Charnley and Rafa Benitez both deserve credit for this with Rafa being the main man to persuade his former club, Chelsea to do this deal.

The Chronicle are reporting today that Kenedy has been assured by Benitez that more skillful players will be arriving before August 9 and we should have a better side than this year’s team (since early February) which did very well.

Go out there, beat the whole defense and smash the ball into the back of the net

The other interesting point from the Mark Douglas report is that both parties really want the move to be permanent – but Newcastle lacked the funds to do it this summer.

However, this is the piece that’s interesting from the Chronicle report:

“There are at least the noises that all the  parties seem to want it to be a permanent move in the summer and there has been talk about the fee to be paid in the close season to make that happen.”

If we are understanding this correctly then when Newcastle sell some of their players this summer and get some funds in then maybe Newcastle can pay the fee for Kenedy to make him a permanent Newcastle player.

It’s kind of a maybe but possible if we do get some big money in for departing players.

And if Rafa can get a deal like this one done Newcastle can get some good players in this summer and with a good side being built by Rafa – it will become a lot easier for our world-class manager to attract world-class players in the future.

The three players we have brought in this summer all have what Rafa wants more of in the team – pure class – and Kenedy (hopefully the deal will be announced this afternoon), Martin Dubravka and Ki Sung-yueng all have that.

This transfer window can become a lot better than fans had imagined.

We hope this transfer window becomes a lot better than fans had imagined.

🙂

Exactly the same happened with Merino if you remember
He was on loan last Summer but in October we paid
Dortmund £6.5M to make the loan a full transfer

Nice article Ed. Makes you wonder why would we be suddenly richer later in the transfer window than now? Selling a few cast-offs wouldn’t make a significant difference.

Jib – you need to chill and as I said last week your geography is very poor. You need to have a holiday and read up on the Far East – take a geography book with you.

I would suggest a tremendous place to visit would be “The Great Wall of Japan”. Get booked up.

    Hahahaha.

    BREAKING NEWS

Newcastle United have rejected a bid of £20m, rising to £25m, from West Ham for their captain and centre back Jamaal Lascelles.

One source at St James’ Park has told SSN this morning that the player is not for sale.

The 24-year old reported back for pre-season training at Newcastle on Friday, with Everton also understood to be interested.

    £20M? Insulting…

And why on Earth would we sell to Wet Spam? They’re potentially our rivals next season. This has annoyed me for all kinds of reasons.

Newcastle get Kenedy so all of a sudden Lascalles is topic of the week.
West Ham and Everton both has been clubs so no surprise there.
    He is not for sale.
    Read our lips.
    Read his lips.
    Read Rafa’s lips.
Go back to reporting on West Ham playing behind closed doors and Everton building a road to a new building site.

Lazy journalism again I reckon, knowing west ham have bags of cash to spend, and linking every player possible to them.
Next up i’tll be reported as a swap deal of Carroll and Antonio for Lascelles right leg

This is a test right here, of what kind of club we are becoming under Rafa. If Rafa has the ability to dictate transfer policy and has control of the First Team, then Lascelles goes nowhere.

If Ashley still has his greasy fingers all over those things, he could go. Not for £25M though, even Ashley in his cups knows Lascelles is worth at least double that in the current market.

Rob…if there’s no clause in that deal to loan Kenedy I am going to side with Jazzyp…then it’s just a ridiculous deal!

Lets assume there is a sign on clause do you think we’ll suddenly have the money to sign him at the end of the season if we don’t have the money now?

You do know when we get the TV money right?

I don’t get how its a ridiculous deal either way. Yes, I hope there is a clause in there to buy him, but either way, if he improves the team – which he does, then there is surely nothing ridiculous about it.

I don’t want to take sides but you rather smugly offer Jib a map of Japan to “please study carefully” in order to clarify that Tosu is in Japan and not China. I just think it might have helped if Tosu was indicated on your map – which it clearly is not, no matter how carefully you study it.

Anybody…..if there’s an option to buy in Kenedy’s loan deal, does that mean we get first refusal at the end of the season, and the price is then negotiated, possibly based on the quality of the season he’s put in.Or…….does it mean a price has already been negotiated, and we could win or lose, once again based on whether he’s had a (admittedly unlikely) poop season?.

Jesper, there’s always a prospect. Imagine Kenedy gets us 20 goals/assists next year and we finish top 6 and win the FA cup. Think of all that lovely extra money from the PL position, European football, nice and attractive club for a Saudi prince to buy into for Ashleys asking price, Rafa signing a lifelong contract, and we all live happily ever after and moan about the times when we used to have stuff to moan about.

    See, always a prospect 🙂

Tosun – my understanding is that it normally means that there is a predetermined fee that Newcastle would pay Chelsea to make it permanent and other clubs can’t jump in. But there is no obligation for NUFC to buy and the player must still also want to make it permanent. Personal terms would still need to be negotiated at the appropriate time.

Pain – Tosu is a relatively small place and therefore would not appear on a “wider” map of far eastern countries.
The point however was to highlight Japan and China on a single map and not to pinpoint the location of Tosu as you suggest.
