The Chronicle (Lee Ryder) are reporting that Newcastle United have postponed Sean Longstaff’s loan move to Portsmouth.
The 20-year-old Newcastle-born player had an excellent game in the friendly against St Patrick Athletic, and it seems Rafa wants to keep him on Tyneside to further evaluate the youngster.
So for the next two weeks, Sean will remain part of the first team squad.
Sean Longstaff – on loan at Blackpool last season
He will no doubt get every opportunity in the upcoming friendly games to put in a claim that he should be part of the first team squad this summer.
Even if he’s still allowed to go out on loan next season, this is a good omen for the midfielder because he’s caught Rafa’s eye as a potential first team player of the future.
And it’s about time we had some young local lads coming through the ranks at the club.
Rafa is keen to increase the standards at both U18 and U23 levels, and it’s vital that Newcastle start to bring youngsters through the ranks to the first team.
So Sean gets a big chance in the next two weeks – we hope he can take the opportunity.
Sean had a good spell on loan at Blackpool last season, and his brother Matthew is also on Newcastle’s books.
Sean played 45 times for Blackpool with 9 goals and the season before that he was at Kilmarnock from January of last year and made 13 appearances with 3 goals.
He scored for Newcastle in our 2-0 win against St, Patrick’s Athletic and looked a good player.

Comment #41Sports Direct CEO Mike Ashley says the days of buying an old Toys R Us store, slapping a Sports Direct fascia on it and filling it with stock are over. Now all the store have to be “premier league” in their appearance and quality.

Comment #42I would say that to describe my comments as ‘Nasty’ would be a bit of an exaggeration. Irritable, terse, exasperated, abrupt, pithy – yes.

I read a post from you earlier having a dig at, who I can only think is sparky55. Like a lot of your posts it is very opinionated and mostly wrong.
”What happened to the fella that worked one week a month in the city of London. MA needed the money for a land deal. Announcement next week bla bla bla.
He’s disappeared”
Sparky55 is a successful businessman from North Yorkshire, he once bought an old shirt at auction to help a fellow poster out for a huge amount. He is obviously friends with other successful business men and told us the club would be going up for sale about three or four days before it did due to some land deal. You look pretty stupid calling people full of shite while getting your facts completely wrong.

The announcement was made about three or four days after the post was made.

Comment #46Interesting if Mitro does go to Fenerbahce. I rubbished these claims when it was reported Damian Comolli was flying in to get the deal sorted and I’d still be surprised to see it happen over a cash sale to Fulham.
Even if it does happen, would a loan deal for Mitro justify flying in specially? I’m not sure, so I wonder what else could be discussed?
Are there any Fenerbahce players we could be interested in taking or that Rafa has a strong connection to?

Comment #49Late bid for Mbemba? Could explain the hold up. I could see Atsu heading to Fenerbache. Joselu/ Manquillo would be suited to that league. Double bid?

My facts are wrong are they. In what respect.
The said Sparky 55 does not blog anymore as far as I know.
Or has he changed his name like others.
I remember when I expressed concern about AS. Was she just a stalking horse trying to flush out a bidder. The Liverpool game. Was it stage managed with Amanda photographed by 20 different cameras. Likewise the curry night.
You hated that and said I was making things up.
The ITKs were not, but I was.
It’s simple. Like many you were believing what you wanted to believe.
MBS, unlimited money, announcement next Tuesday etc.

Like I said sparky55 mentioned a possible sale days before anyone was talking about anything. As for being fooled by Staveley , then if she was a stalking horse as you claimed then there’s no shame in that, she managed to convince George Caulkin, a respected Times journalist as well.

I really don’t know what you are on about.
The clubs been up for sale for ten years at the right price.
When I said announcement next Tuesday bla bla bla I meant they were calling the actual announcement of the sale being agreed. Not it’s being put up for sale.
At the height of the mania that’s how bad it was.
By some and I don’t want to go back and check just who.
But it went like this. Deal done 100%. Will be announced by the end of the week.
Did any of them offer an explanation.
Generally no. They either changed their names or stopped blogging.
I really don’t mind the ITK stuff, but accept it even if it is not good news.
I was bitterly disappointed when it came to nothing.
But, as I said earlier that may still change.
Big question is how and when.
