Mbemba Finally Joins Porto – Newcastle Making Net Profit So Far

Defender Chancel Mbemba finally completed his permanent move to Porto for a fee believed to be around £5M.

Cancel spent three years at Newcastle after signing on for us from Anderlecht for about £8M, and he had an outstanding first season at the club.

Unfortunately, we were relegated in May of 2016, and the DR Congo International did not get much playing time under Rafa Benitez over the last two seasons.

Chancel Mbemba – in Porto’s colors

This is what Chancel has said about the move:

“I’m going to do my best in this shirt. It is a great happiness for me.”

“Everyone knows FC Porto, a great club. “

“I remember being in Africa and seeing FC Porto win the Champions League and I remember the great players that have come here.”

“I’m very happy to sign for FC Porto.”

We now expect a replacement center-back to be signed this week.

Newcastle are making a profit of about £11M in the summer transfer window so far.

We play Porto this weekend in a friendly so Chancel may get a runout for his new club.

Mbemba played 59 games for Newcastle with one goal, and his attitude and temperament were always first class.

We wish him all the very best at Porto.

Here’s Mbemba’s message to Newcastle fans.

c-dog, I prefer hibbit and hibbit to rule them all.
Jib is too weak by my reckoning.

It’s all a bid mad in reality. If we had never bought mbemba a few years ago, and we got him today from anderlecht, we’d be pleased! Not sure why Rafa wanted shot of him but it’s seems same with mitro. If they can’t follow precise instructions then they will be out. Some coaches are like that. Irelands rugby coach is very like Rafa and is one of best in world. One major concern has to be an injury to Jon Jo. We looked like a championship side without him, albeit in our first pre season game
