Keith Downie of Sky Sports is reporting that Matz Sels will be leaving Newcastle for Strasbourg who were 15th in Ligue 1 last season.
They conceded 67 goals which was the third worst goals against record in the top French league so they will hope to do better next season.
That was their first season in the top league after they were promoted in first place last year.
Sels finished a good season on loan to Anderlecht in his home country Belgium and was disappointed that deal did not go through.

But it will be a good move for Sels to go to France and show them what he can do.
Matz Sels is in France finalising a move to Strasbourg that should be completed later today. Newcastle have agreed to sell the Belgian keeper to the new promoted Ligue 1 club for £3.5m.

Newcastle will get €4M (£3.5M) for the Belgian after we paid around £5M (?) for him from Gent two years ago.
Matz is now in France taking a medical, and if all is well, he will sign on at Strasburg.
When that happens, it will be another fringe player off the wage bill at Newcastle.
Matz is still a good goalkeeper and can do well in the French League.
He played 14 times for Newcastle and the transfer is not official until Newcastle announce it on their website.
