Newcastle Linked With 22-Year-Old South American – Who Is Nahitan Nandez?

Some reports are coming out of South America that Newcastle are interested in signing Boca Juniors central midfielder Nahitan Nandez – full name – Nahitan Michel Nandez Acosta.

The 22-year-old was part of Uruguay’s World Cup squad in Russia this summer, and he has 17 full caps for his country.

Nandez was captain of the Uruguay U20 side for the 2015 FIFA U20 World Cup played in New Zealand, and he made his senior debut for Uruguay in September 2015 in a friendly game against Costa Rica.

One report the Chronicle are mentioning is from ClossAM, which is a radio station in Argentina and Newcastle have asked how much the release clause is in Nandez’  current contract at Boca Juniors.

There is no specific number coming out on that with reports ranging from £12M to £22M.

22-year-old Boca Juniors midfielder Nahitan Nandez

£12M is good £22M is not so good.

🙂

Maybe Nandez would be a young player who could come in to replace Isaac Hayden who is keen to move south to be closer to his girlfriend and their baby.

Rafa is known not to let players leave until he has a replacement lined up.

For Rafa to be interested in Nandez, he must know a lot about the player and from what we can tell Nandez looks like a good up-and-coming player who could come in and fill the vacuum left by younger players like Mikel Merino and Isaac Hayden.

We need some young players who can improve under Rafa’s tutelage in the Newcastle squad.

Nandez stared his career at Penarol in Montevideo and only moved to Boca Juniors last summer.

While at Penarol he played 87 times with 8 goals and 11 assists and last season he played 27 games with 4 goals and one assist in his maiden season in Argentina.

It will be interesting to see if Rafa is indeed keen on bringing the young Uruguayan central midfielder to Newcastle.

Hope so.

I think Rafa’s ideal is 3 players for each position
With a permitted squad of 25 players he’ll have to
    draft in 8 under 21s
    So far he’s tried
    Sean Longstaff
    Josef Yarney
    Callum Roberts
    Victor Fernandez
    Freddie Woodman
    he’s let Armstrong go
    other candidates are:-
    Mo Sangare
    Liam Gibson
    Elias Sorensen
    Kelland Watts
    Luke Charman
    Dan Barlaser
    and a few others

That’s it I’ll post this and wait for the bus to stop.

When was Armstrong let go and to whom, I don’t recall seeing that actually happening although it has been mooted.

I reckon that Rafa is not going to go for another striker it will be a No. 10 and LB

    Mr Funky,
My take on it is that it’s out of Rafa’s hands now, he’s handed over his list of targets, marked out priority and now will have to rely on what CBA deliver.

    @ Jail

I think there have been compromises – Muto being a cheaper striker option then Rondon et al.

Maybe more money being put towards a No. 10 instead

How the heck can we be making a £12m profit as it stands and be priced out of a £6m move for Bryan?! Ugh!

Not really, i think both sets of manager are in a win win situation with Ashley, as Ashley is always the fall guy for obvious reasons.

Rafa does well with decent budget players, he walks away with enhanced/confirmation of his abilities

P45 types can always say he never backed me, or players were bought and sold behind my back .

It has to be said that the players bought so far are all fair priced in todays market, and in my opinion should allow us to cement top 10-7

Leah from earlier…my comment about disguising lulz/joking as banter/humour was a response to Jibs earlier post as you rightly put it…

…the et al refer to others who use the same tactic! It’s well documented on here but not that many points it out probably for various reasons.

Catchy thing is Rafa wants to stay here can see the potential here, Ashley doesnt and he is not interested in us progressing, he is just interested in promoting SD while trying to keep us up on a limited budget

We finished 10th last season, so far we have replaced the players we have sold, as it stands with our squad I am not sure it is good enough to gaurantee top 10, we need a proven striker in this team, says it all when Perez was our top scorer last season

    From the other blog
An exchange on social media between Salomon Rondon and Venezuelan friend ‘@KaBeto’ has been leaked online, showing the West Brom striker confirm that he is currently ‘moving out’ – suggesting he could be packing his bags ahead of a move to NUFC?

The pressing matter stil is the fact that we have 29 players and can only register 25.

Within that 29 we still need to upgrade some and we are still very short of a prolific goal scorer…

Maybe our hatred for Mike Ashley could wait a day or two…it’s not like something new is being said!

Any news on who we are looking at to deliver the needed goals this season? Or is Rafa just in a Rondon moment he cannot get out of 😉

Nothing much to discuss today – all quiet on the Muto front – despite all the “signing” reports yesterday.
Other than that a most boring read on the blog with the usual suspects of the blogs “grannies, fannies and pompous prattlers arguing amongst themselves. Wasted a good half hour of my time reading their self justification shyte.

The money wasn’t put towards a 10 or striker last year so imagine it’ll be more of the same this year. Unless we sell Mitro. Fulham know we need rid of him to buy and they’re playing hardball with the complete upper hand. Hope we can get him sold sooon so we have time to sign a good player.

This guy would be a great addition t our squad young has great potential can play in a vary of midfield positions, possible no10? If we sell hayden he would be a great replacement and he’s going to push the first team more quality signing if we could get him and joe Bryan in I’d be buzzing

Nahitan…if you check up on Nahitan Nandez (I don’t know him) you’ll come to the conclusion he’s a CM…not an ACM and not a DM…

There’s really no need to buy a CM if you want a replacement for Hayden unless he’s used to play DM on a more regular basic…

As for an ACM…last season a large amount of posters on here wanted to use god knows how many players in the ACM position just to get rid of Perez…

Guess we found out he was the right choice after all!

I see captain cod eye of the good ship rafaout is already setting up the manager.

The players we’ve bought are fair priced and should be good enough for a 7-10 place finish.

Are you going to begin wailing half way through the season when we’re in a relegation battle saying “he should be getting more out of these quality players” quality players all under £10m after not being backed.

You truly are a trawler(troll) man aren’t you.

Jesper spot on. Do me a favour and tell that halfwit Ruddy will you? He is still cross because I had bee not defending Perez a lot last year as being a player with could survive in a technical team like City. He isn’t at the high level of many of their attackers but vision and crispness would allow substitute appearances without looking like, say, a Colback. Great attitude too and another thing rarely higighted is how well he closes down defenders and goalies. Nice lines of running. Wudnt surprise me if he poaches a goal next season by nobbling a centre half and getting an easy score. Rafa clearly likes hard working 10s and muto might be similar

Average, we all know Rafa needs and deserves a better budget. We just hope and think he is improving the squad. Not sure where the obvious improvements are coming in the starting 11 though. Hoping for a decent striker but fatty seems congenitally incapable of splashing 15mill+
