International Left-Back Could Be Too Expensive For Newcastle

Argentina International left-back Nicolas Tagliafico played in all four of Argentina’s games in the World Cup in Russia this summer and it now looks like he wants to move from his Dutch club Ajax.

That’s strange because he only joined Ajax in January from Independiente in Argentina for a fee of £4M and he signed a five-year deal at the time.

The fee has now doubled and he is available for £8M which may be too much to pay for Newcastle.

25-year-old Argentina International Nicolas Tagliafico

It could be that Rafa wants to try to get him on loan for the season with an option to buy but we would expect Ajax want a permanent move for their player this summer,

He played 15 times with one goal for Ajax and Rafa is trying to bring in another left back who can challenge Paul Dummett for the left-back starting spot at Newcastle.

We are short at fullback with Yedlin and Dummett being the starters and this season Javier Manquillo and perhaps local lad Jamie Sterry could be the back-up full-backs.

Fulham and their ambitious owner Shad Khan are also said to be interested in the left fullback.

It seems sad when a fee of £8M is too much for a club of the status of Newcastle to play for a player we need.

And it looks like our record of around £17M for Michael Owen back in 2005 will still stand at the end of this summer’s transfer window.

Getting Nicolas Tagliafico in would certainly put pressure on Paul Dummett for the starting left-back spot on Tyneside.

That’s exactly what Rafa wants.

One thing that worries me… If Ashley is sanctioning apparantly Fulham paying 5m a year for Mitrovic over the course of his contact, it probably means he has no intention of selling any time soon.. can’t see him authorizing transfers that would benefit a new owner

“Newcastle United board told they need to sign FOUR more players before deadline day.”

Do we still have a board?

I have always been of the belief that Ashley doesn’t want to sell. He said he does but when does he tell the truth and his actions since don’t exactly show that he wants to sell.

HERE WE GO AGAIN ! How can this be ? Saying that this player at approx. £8M is too expensive for NUFC ? Now with the sale of Mitro gone through as well as others that have gone we are STILL making a profit on transfers alone AGAIN ! Probably around £10M profit in this window alone ! AND What about the £125M + for 10th position and TV rights etc etc Where the FCUK has that gone ? For those that are mathematically challenged or awkward pickers then look back at EVERY transfer window while Greedy boy has been at the helm and I bet almost everyone has been profit . He is ripping us off BIG STYLE !
EVERYONE and I mean everyone needs to take a stand against this tosser and stop this from happening anymore ! I’ve done what I thought was appropriate and stopped buying season tickets. Granted some might say it’s wrong but why give your hard earned cash to someone that’s taking the piss out of you ? I’ve watched Newcastle for 40 + years and have had season ticket for nearly 30 years. It’s destroyed me not seeing the lads playing live and enjoying the banter with those around me both good and not so good but this bloke has to be stopped and the only way to do this is hit him in the pocket. Don’t go to his shops. Hold off on buying season tickets Do give him any money at all if you can avoid it. Get together and make a stand every game in front of the TV cameras. You don’t have top be loud or violent, Big banners would do. He will disappear. Rangers done it so why can’t we ? He is a disease that will eventually kill NUFC or damage it beyond repair.

I think NUFC are looking for players who will pay the club to play. That includes uniform rentals, locker stalls and laundry.
