One More Player Moves Closer To The Door – Deal Expected This Week

Newspaper Olay report Turkish club Bursaspor are near to completing a loan deal to get Henri Saivet for the season.

There have been talks between both clubs, and they are close to a deal to take Newcastle’s 22 times capped Senegal International to Turkey.

The news is that Saivet is keen to join Bursaspor and that Newcastle will loan him to the club for free – we assume that means for no fee but that the Turkish club will pay his wages.

If there are no hitches, then Saivet will likely join the club this week for the season loan.

27-year-old Senegal International Henri Saivet

Saivet played well for Sivasspor on loan for the second half of the season under their coach Samet Aybaba, and he played 12 games in total.

Aybaba is now the Bursaspor coach and is keen to secure the Newcastle player on loan again for next season.

Saivet has been told there are just one or two things to be sorted out between the clubs and that a loan agreement is close to being agreed.

Henri was signed by former manager Steve McClaren and it never really worked out for him at Newcastle and when Rafa Benitez came in Saivet did not get much playing time at all.

But when he arrived, he signed a five and a half year deal, so his contract lasts until 2021.

Newcastle will need to get his wages paid each season or sell the Senegal International.

He has played only 8 times for Newcastle with one great goal he scored direct from a free kick last season in our 3-2 win at West Ham.

Comments welcome.

Hope he does go out loan – frees up space in squad and wages saved

Funny thing is I thought Saivet would do well for us. He looked like he had everything he needed to succeed in the prem, and to be fair to the guy, on those rare occasions he has played, he hasn’t disgraced himself. Loan or transfer out would seemingly be the best option for all parties.

Given how light we are for Centre Halve’s it would be absolutely stupid to let Jamal go anywhere. He’s the backbone of our team right about now, so regardless of how silly a fee people speculate there is no way we should sell.

Completely agree, however from a business point of view it’s the type of thing that gives fat boy a stonker. So it’s that and invest or stay as we are.

if we were stupid enough to let him go (let him have another great season to push his price up to van Dijk/Maguire region, no rush, signed new contract until 2023) who says we’d have any money? Ashley would let Everton pay £5m a year over ten years and then say we haven’t got any money!

Can’t believe people are suggesting they’d like Tammy Abrahams in. He scored 5 goals all season against Huddersfield, West Brom and Palace when they were rock bottom and scored once between October and the end of the season!

It has been said before but I think as long as Rafa is here Lascelles will be content to stay. Next season should Rafa leave then he may well follow him out the door.

Everything to do with our club is negative with this fat tosser of an owner who won’t even speak to the fans or issue a statement! If he sells Lascelles I hope Rafa walks because I certainly will. I can’t believe Saivet is still on our books and we can’t even get Rondon for 16 million. Ffs just GO Ashley I’d rather be in the fckin Championship than have this twat of an owner!

Hibbit, probably a player in on loan. Fully paid loan fee though ? can see the usual over the line excuse. The sooner he realises the massive conflict in business he has with himself and actually maximises the potential of our club the better.

Toon and Rafa are in between a rock and a hard place at the moment
We have our full quota of 25 players and we are having difficulty in shipping out
ie Gayle – so to get anyone in we will have to sell or loan out or even de-register players

    Also
Cannot see Rafa selling Lascslles and if he does if will be from orders above

Thought we’d sold this player ages ago. Anyway, since the Rondon saga (who cares, really?) seems a no go, hope we have another alternative.

Gayle is a bit of a mystery to me. He’s been a typical Newcastle player, tbh. Up and down, quite good and terrible. Can we rely on him? No. Joselu began brightly, then he totally lost confidence. Is that all it is? Why does Rafa keep picking him?

The above two I’ve seen plenty of times, but I can’t judge Armstrong at all. If he ain’t ready by now he’ll never be.

The new guy I’ve never watched, I think. Maybe once, with Japan.

Conclusion: can’t, since there are unknowns above. But I know that Nufc traditionally has a heavyweight CF. Don’t think we have that yet.

Drop Rondon and his mega clause (will this transfer settle the fans?), get someone, a new super talent (don’t ask who, surely the choices don’t stop at Rondon) who wants to be here, for a round twenty. Shatters our record, keeps the masses happy.

Shite is this Back to the Future week, please don’t worry about Jamaal leaving its not 2019/2020 season yet. Here’s something that has been racking in my head and maybe I missed something last week but did anyone actually see Muto land in Newcastle for his medical? I know it takes a little time for a permit but I didn’t see anything about him being at the airport or the training facilities?

So Ashley won’t buy players for Rafa because Rafa might not be here after the season is over and a new manager might not want Rafa’s buys.

    But…

He’ll possibly sell our most important player and captain, weaken the team, won’t allow replacement of Lascelles, all to undermine Rafa, get him to walk, and have any new manager with a squad short of our captain

The position of manager is irrelevant to Ashley. Just goes to show there is zero interest in football at Mike Ashley’s NUFC.

Personally I don’t think Lascelles will be sold this window – unless for a ridiculous amount like Van Dijk type money and even then maybe in January – It would be a bridge too far in the current climate but only because of the public backlash that wouldn’t just come from the Newcastle fans but from the footballing world. It would get even more of the National press to scrutinize what Ashley is doing to us.

There is so much rubbish and rumour being circulated at the moment. It’s like the usual transfer window on steroids. My thoughts:
    1. Lascelles is going nowhere. He does not want to leave and nor does the club. In fact if you look at the record, we do not have a history of selling the best players when big offers are made despite what many say. We’ve sold when players have wanted to leave or when we have been relegated and always got good money for them. Exception is perhaps Carroll which was almost robbery by us
    2. Rondon deal is delayed but I suppose we’ll pay cash eventually if we can’t persuade Gayle to go. Until we know how this pans out, we won’t know what cash is available for others. Hopefully this will be resolved in the next day or so but seems to be cornerstone to other deals
    3. As others have mentioned,”outs” are equally important to “ins” in terms of squad size and not playing good wages to players to sit in the reserves
    4. I believe the link to Lambombe and Bryan but certainly not the link to Baines.
    5. Most other stuff circulated is rubbish too

    Don’t panic, Captain Mainwaring !!!

What a mess to come back to. Avoided the blog whilst away to avoid spoiling my break.
That letter to Ashley? Seriously? What blinding moron wrote it?
Throwing a blatant challenge down to a man with an ego the size of The Angel – great idea.
You’re just one man. We’re an entire city. Bring it on big boy.
Slight problem there. You ain’t an entire city. You’re roughly 15k punters, 90% who’ve no idea where SJP is, let alone go to games.
    Der, Der and triple DER!
You can’t even boycott the SD shop in town ffs, for all the big talk on here. I bet he’s quaking in his boots.
All you’ve done is annoy the knacka and that certainly can’t help.
Diplomacy. Look it up. It’s what smaller country’s use when dealing with bully boys when they know they can’t threaten them.
A slightly better approach may have been:
“Dear Mr Ashley, as a self made billionaire you’ve beaten the odds and made it. Well done. Nobody can knock you when it comes to making money from retail. You virtually wrote the book.
However, as you may have noticed already, running a football club and retail is a different ball game altogether. (No pun intended).
The two cannot be run on the same business model.
You’ve made several promises you’ve failed to keep, none of which have gone unnoticed.
We’re grateful for you bringing in a world class manager like Mr Benitez, but he needs your support to make the club great again. From the outside – the fan’s view – it appears you’re hindering him, not helping.
When you bought the club we have no doubt that you did so with good intentions. Sadly, it simply hasn’t worked out. Whilst you may have had every intention of making NUFC a great club, for any number of reasons, it’s failed.
Nobody with the clubs interest at heart wants a war. For a club to succeed everybody has to be on board. This is no longer the case. There is a divide growing between yourself and the fanbase that can longer be ignored.
You want success because you own the club.
We want success because it means more to us that just ownership – it’s our life.
It’s failing. Something needs to give. We cannot stop being fans of Newcastle, we’re born into it. That leaves you.
You’re no longer being happy as the owner, that much is obvious.
We appreciate the fact that you’ve invested into our club. You’ve kept us afloat when other clubs have sunk. However, they comes a time when for the best interest all round, a parting is inevitable. That time is fast approaching.
You’ve had a full decade of free advertising, beamed into every household across the nation every week. That has been priceless for SD. That alone has been a price worth paying.
You say yourself you can’t compete with the big clubs and that’s understandable. It’s the smaller clubs that concern us.
A football club is a rich man’s toy. A toy you are now clearly bored with. The time has come to move on – for everybody’s sake.
If you truly wish to sell the club, please, reduce the asking price to make it interesting to potential buyers. There’s a lot of investment needed to improve the club as you’re well aware. The training facilities for one. Any potential buyer has to include that in the price. £400m is simply too much.
You’re bored with the club. Frankly, we’re not happy with that situation but the upshot is, only you can do anything about it.
Newcastle is unlike any other club in the country. Everybody in the city supports it. It’s our pride and joy. It’s just another business to you.
All we ask is one of two things. Support the club financially, or sell to someone who will”.

That’s without much thought. It could be improved with more thought, but you get my gist. Has life not taught you that antagonising a bully only results in bigger a kicking?
We all hate him with a passion, but come on – threatening him with hollow threats?
All that’s done is set up battle lines in a war that will only result in NUFC suffering. He won’t back down. His ego won’t allow it. Sadly, he can afford to see NUFC crumble. We can’t. God help us now.

Nostradamus, I think Mutu is still technically a Mainz player until the work permit is resolved. I remember somebody signing on the dotted line a few years back (Liverpool I think?) before the WP was sorted, and ended up with a player whom was ineligible as he was refused a WP, so they had to keep sending him on loan overseas where he was entitled to play. Can’t remember which player it was, or which club, but I think player sales are agreed pending successful WP application now. If he is refused, he stays a Mainz player.

Martoon from last post @ 6: Here’s the rub re the SD/Ho/NUFC connection.Yo’re quite right in that you can’t just move money from say, NUFC to HoF. What you can do though, is to grow your prime investment, say SD, by using another asset, for example NUFC, and siphoning club merchandise through that company, then furthermore using the same asset to advertise and grow the market awareness of the brand without it costing said brand a single penny which in turn leads to massive profits for the prime investment which can then be paid to directors/shareholders who can then put that money anywhere they like – bailing out a different company like HoF for example.

All connected, with NUFC at the very hub it. Anyone who says ashley is stupid needs to think about how he’s got away with this for all this time.

Hobbit, how, is it? It’s the first point in any war. Only when diplomacy fails, do you go to war. Going to war on the back of 15k idiots, most of which don’t even go to games is STUPIDITY.
Let’s, have a little bet. No money, purely for fun. See what the crowds are in September. (August often doesn’t tell the full story whilst people are on holiday).
15k gobalots mean nothing to Ashley. Zero.
When dealing with a bully you offer HIM the way out. You don’t threaten on the back of a tin pot army.
“I’m never going to to games whilst Ashley is in charge.”
    “Did you go before that?”
“Well no, but I won’t go anyway”.
Get a grip ffs. If Ashley gets 50k anyway, wtf? Will he care? No.
Then again, most of us will go because NUFC is that important to us.
And coming from you, who’ve just decided enough is enough after eleven years is risible.
You don’t threaten bullies. You try first to appeal to their ego. It’s, commonsense, but forgive me for thinking you had any.
