Rafa Benitez Positive About Muto Impact At Newcastle

Out new signing, Yoshinori Muto is not a prolific goalscorer, and he has already said his goal for next season is to score 10 goals which he has never achieved outside of Japan.

But he is good technically and a typical Rafa Benitez type of player – keen to learn and a hard worker in both training and during games.

Muto is keeping fit as he wraps up his visa work and could be on the bench on Saturday when we take on Tottenham at home in the first game of the season.

Rafa Benitez with new signing Yoshinori Muto

This is what Rafa has said about the 26-year-old as reported in the Chronicle today:

“Hopefully he will score goals for us.”

“Maybe he is not a player that will score 20 goals for us every year but maybe next year he can do it.”

“He’s somebody who has a great attitude.”

“When I met him you can see a clever player who has focus.”

“We have to see how he feels and the understanding between players and then decide.

“The idea is obviously to bring players in to compete.”

“When I asked him what he was doing the other day he gave me all the details about the training session he was doing.”

“So that is quite positive.”

We should be signing Salomon Rondon on loan from West Brom soon with Dwight Gayle going the other way – as long as Dwight is willing to do that.

And we suppose Gayle stays on his current Newcastle wages at West Brom.

Mo Diame is fit and can play against Tottenham on Saturday after he was taken off in the first half as a precaution against FC Augsburg on Saturday.

That’s good news.

So the last week of the transfer window beckons lads..What’s ya feelings??? Optimistic or fearing the worst??
Rondon,Ings,Nsoki and Maia would ease the burden of what has been a massively underwhelming transfer window as yet.So let’s hope this week brings positively going into the new season

I am sure he will be roundly applause when he comes off the bench and highly cheered when he scores the winning goal!

I hope he brings a little something different to the PL and it takes defenders a while to figure him out.

Here’s hoping we can give Spurs a good run for their money on Saturday and get a win with 11 men fighting from our corner this time.

I watched the game at a pub in Blairgowrie last August (Whilst on holiday) and felt we done quite well until we had Shelvey sent off.

Once they scored their second I knew there was no coming back with ten men!

So here’s hoping it’s Spurs that get a man sent off (like they should have done last season) and end up losing the game this time!

My money is on Rondon only. After 3 months of penny pinching and snails pace deals do we really think we are going to sign 4 players in 4 days? No chance.

We still need a CF. Still haven’t replaced Mitro & swapped Gayle for Rondon. Can’t see if happening though. Only Ings name being floated about which I’m apprehensive about
