Report – Newcastle Have Bid Around £26M For Top Brazilian Striker

There is news today that Newcastle have made an offer to sign Real Sociedad’s Brazilian striker Willian Jose.

In the last two seasons in La Liga he has scored 34 goals in 74 appearances including 20 goals in 40 total appearances last season.

Heavy spending, newly promoted and ambitious club Fulham are also after the 26-year-old striker.

26-year-old Real Sociedad’s Brazilian striker Willian Jose

In Spain noticias.bles.com are reporting this news.

It’s rather strange because the report is that Fulham offered £26M according to a report in the Mail, so how could Newcastle compete with money like that?

And from a newly promoted Championship club?

It seems that we cannot with Mike Ashley as the owner.

But the report from Spain is that Newcastle are the other Premier League club to have put in an offer – with both offers being rejected

Chelsea are also said to have become interested, but the player himself says he wants to stay in Spain and he has a massive release clause in his contract of £60M for the 6ft 2ins Brazilian.

We cannot believe Newcastle will get anywhere near to securing this player.

But we suppose it’s a little bit of excitement of what it may be like in bringing in an expensive striker once Mike Ashley has left the club and assuming Rafa Benitez is still around by then.

There’s no way Newcastle will be signing Willian Jose by Thursday evening.

Comments welcome.

No way would Ashley pay the wages a £26m pound striker would want.

I doubt that Rondon will walk straight into the first team for Tottenham. Benitez will want to spend some time training him. Expecting the team to look like this, if injury free.

    —————–Dubravka—————-
    Yedlin——Lascelles–Clark—Dummett
    Ritchie—–Shelvey—Diame—-Kenedy
    ———————–Muto———–
    —————-Perez————–

Ummm, this one is the very definition of fake news. Not a cat’s chance in hell are we bidding anything above £10 million for anyone this window. The Fat Man wants to sell so refuses to invest in the club. Of course he’ll still take his free crappy sports retailer advertising all over the stadium and still demand a price that is waaaaaay above what anyone is willing to pay for it but you go nuts Fat Ash. We were here before you, we’ll be here long after you’ve gone.

Lol this my suggested signing at the start of summer when we thought naively that we’ll be spending some money. Quality striker in a very average team.

Mike Ashley is currently negotiating directly to lascelles like last year about the bonuses. He is suggesting loaning them the bonus but expects it back for the start of next season.

I can’t see us paying decent wages for Rondon, Muto and this guy when we only play one striker. Would Muto be happy to be 3rd choice? Unless Muto is going to be the odd job man playing all four forward positions.

Would Rafa want three big money strikers and just one makeshift number ten? Surely being a clever man, he’d say spend that £25m on a number ten, or on a left back a centre back and a number ten.

Nevertheless, this would be an exciting signing and I’d be over the moon if it comes off.

    According to the Spanish media
Both Fulham and the Toon have offered €20+M
Real Sociedad have dismissed both out of hand
He has a €65M release clause and Chelsea will
activate it when they have the money from RM
    for Eden Hazard

    You have to love this.
Maybe he could go to work on all the Sports Direct screens , that would be fun

If Plea went for £20m after a half decent season in a joke of a league, then this guy will be worth £35-45m.

The Club admitted to the Tribunal that it repeatedly and intentionally misled the press, public and the fans of Newcastle United”. Sure we can add the players to this now. Hope they give him hell

The player may have been quoted as
    being happy in Spain
    but
    His agent Nick Arcuri said

“A todos los que me preguntan, les remito a la Real Sociedad.
Si los clubes llegan a un acuerdo y es interesante para Willian,
vamos a estudiarlo con cariño. Le quedan cuatro años de contrato,
está contento y muy tranquilo, pero, si se alcanzan números que sean
buenos para el equipo y para el jugador, vamos a ver”.

could this be an attempt to get fans on side. Throw a few £20m offers in that they know will get rejected and say they tried their best

This is the lineup I’d like to see:

    —————–Dubravka—————-
    Yedlin——Lascelles–Schar—Dummett
    —-Ritchie—–Shelvey—Ki
    Perez———–————-Kenedy
    —————-Rondon————–

Play Perez out wide would give us a little threat on the right… Would also give Murphy something to think about in training!

Rafa not much for playing people out of position but we already use Perez as a secondary striker why not have him drift in from further to the right. We have a solid defense this could give us true punch on the counterattack and give Shelvey and Ki more options on the outlet. We’ll also find out soon enough if Rondon can win aerial duals, hold up the ball well, knock down the ball for others and most importantly take his chances!!!

No chance. My guess is we’ll get Rondon over the line and fail in bid for PSG left back and maybe get a fall back LB target in. Biggest fear is Maguire to Utd and Lascelles to Leicester on deadline day. Then we scramble all day and fail to bring in a replacement…

History is littered with clubs who have gone down damaged by behind the scenes issues. I’m seriously past worrying about it as relegation again would be the only way Ashley would cut and run. I don’t care if we end up like the Mackems if it cuts out the cancer of Ashley’s mis management and abuse of the club. One more drop and you get to keep your match ball mikey!
