Sky Sports Pundit Tips Newcastle For Relegation This Season

Sky Sports Soccer Saturday pundit Charlie Nicholas doesn’t seem to be a fan of Newcastle and last season he panned the club a few times as a Championship club, but we survived and finished in the top half of the Premier League,

But Nicholas still doesn’t think Newcastle have brought in the quality we need this summer and tips us for relegation next May.

Sky Sports pundit Charlie Nicholas – thinks Magpies will be relegated

Here’s what the pundit has said about Newcastle:

“Newcastle are right on the edge of it with what has been going there this summer.”

“They did well to get the money they did for Aleksandar Mitrovic but they still can’t get quality in, although I do like Kennedy.”

“The only thing keeping this club together is the relationship between the fans and Rafael Benitez.”

“But I genuinely hope I’m wrong with fearing it could all fall apart.

On a much brighter note Sky Bet has the following clubs as favorites to be relegated:

Cardiff 4/6
Huddersfield 11/10
Fulham 15/8

Newcastle are 8th on the list at 5/1 behind Watford, Brighton, Burnley, and Bournemouth.

So there’s hope yet.

🙂

Odds on us accepting a last minute bid for Lascelles from Man Utd when they can’t get Boateng or Maguire? No way Ashley would turn down a bid over 50 million

I’d thought that Jazzy, I’d really take them to the cleaners if they did and ask for Rojo and Martial on loan to buy and money too. Maybe even some of their young stats like Callum Gribbin too.

Our squad don’t look fit for purpose. A couple of injuries and we are finished.

Charlie, if we look like going down in January, Ashley will bottle it and make the necessary cash available to keep us up. We won’t be going down this term so long as Rafa sees out his contract, mister.

We all know Ashley would sell anyone if the money is right – I think keeping hold of what we have is as much a positive as anyone coming in.
Lets see you all at Sports Direct on Saturday for a peacefull protest and why not enter the ground just after kick off screaming Ashley out !!!
    keep the faith.

Mag52, I didn’t notice the wording in the letter. I hope he’s paying off the loan otherwise I demand to see 50-75m worth of transfers. I can’t see any other explanation to be honest apart from Fat Mike keeping the money for the next boss. Unless there is a 75m kitty but we’ve been incompetent to an unbelievable level. But that seems highly unlikely.

So Swansea want 10 million for Fernandez and we offer 3. Its just so pathetic, embarrasing and laughable. Is it any wonder we struggle to sign players when we have those two unqualified idiots barnes and penfold in senior positions. I couldn’t contain the laughter trying to watch those two value a player. I know were swimming in cash rafa but we really did try to vring in the players you wanted. Honestly. I can’t think of another sporting institution rang less for sporting reasons than what we are, were not ran as a business either. We just lurch from one crisis to another trying to exist. Lardy out.

So Jabba admits our debt is £144M yet he’s put the club up for sale for £400M.I’ve never hated a man more in my 42 years on this planet. He’s even ruined me watching Barcelona because every time i glance at the scoreboard it say’s FCB and it reminds me of him.

If he’s paying the loan, you’d think he’d say. But then he’s not really known for talking to the daily sh*t-rags.

    ilovetoon,
i think an injury to lascelles while lejuenes is out would be damaging, as there is a big drop in ability from lascelles to clark/ schar. same goes for the fullbacks, but mainly because manquillo is so bad. but other than lascelles and maybe shelvey i think we won’t suffer too much.

    No it’s not

    He’s 30 in six months
on PL wages in the Champo
    even transfermarkt who are
miles OTT value him at £8M

You should direct your ire at clubs

Yeah I agree, we only need a left back to push Dummett to be reasonably well balanced and have decent depth. Even now, we have Lascelles, Clark, Cher, Dummett and Hayden to cover cb, and Yedlin, Dummett, Manqillo, Hayden, Clark, Sterry and even Kenedy. Rafa’s after a bit of quality more than a body.

Can see why we are tipped for relegation when every other team is eclipsing us in the transfer market, and on top of that who the he’ll would really want to come to us now when we look so unambitious compared to everyone else, if we survive this season it will be down to graft and some scrappy tight won games, probably why Rafa wanted Ronon, my only Hope for this season is Mike Ashley sells, and hand on heart I don’t expect it, so no way will Rafa stay on,he would be mad too.

Joe Bryan has joined Fulham. Another one we could have got and not broke the bank. What a mess. If we got two decent players in we cud call this a solid window but how likely is that? Mind you did someone say we got two in last year?

Now is the time to forget Ashley blogs this will hurt him more when he is ignored, we should now concentrate on the
team and give them all our support both in and out of the ground. We could upset all players by these silly demonstrations and be goaded by the opposition i know i have been there

That statement in the letter to the Government about the £144 loan did highlight that no monies had been allocated to repayment. I can not remember the exact amounts of expenditure but the owner is profiting on both PL money and transfers. It is his business and his decision but is also at odds with every respected football professional and business theory.

not defending the -25m spend, but in terms of player values we’ve added approx 50m net to our PLAYING SQUAD.

    areas we’ve improved
kenedy for 38 games, not 12
rondon is better than gayle and will help improve perez and the likes of atsu, murphy
muto gives us options and cover for perez
schar gives us better cover or maybe even a better CD
dubravik for 100% games not 30%
it is a young squad that is improving and gaining experience. nobody is on the decline.
diame and perez looked like new players 2nd half of season. hopefully they can produce for a full year this time.

    areas stayed the same
ki & merino balance each other out
lejuenes is injured for half a season (but he was injured/ not up to speed for half of last year)
morale will be ok again as we don’t have many unhappy players lurking about.

not huge improvements so far, but we finished tenth and if we hadnt fell to pieces without lascelles/ dummet or stopped performing once safety was achieved then we’d have easily rivalled burnley. other teams never improve that much despite many signings. history tells us a high percentage of signings flop. we’ll do ok.

    Is Yarney left footed?
At a push both he and Clarke can play LB. Not ideal as it is scrapping the barrel but not completely ‘black’.

Thats as maybe, but 10 million should be a drop in the ocean with all the tv money going around surely. Its just the continued penny pinching, hagling, stupidity, short sightedness and refusal to pay out money from the so called board to back rafa.

    Nicky (repost from last)

I was simply pointing out that a players value is mostly to do with how much you don’t want to sell. It had nothing to do with Ashley and the club. Not many average clubs would knock back 75mil for a CB that is probably only worth 20-25 by todays standards.

Toney gone, Arma gone. No doubt you have to be very, very good to play for Newcastle, for those that would like to see more of our youngsters blooded. Added to that the famous heavy shirt, of course. Rafa’s bang on when he says we need to invest in the Academy.

£10 million is below the going rate for a Premier League proven, well capped international player.

Get a grip Jib, £3 million gets you a bottom 4 Championship / Top 4 League 1 journeyman these days.

2006 is long gone, as are it’s transfer fees.

    Don’t fret lads.
Jermaine is here and the missus has him safely locked in the shed.
She’ll make sure he’s well fed and let him out after the window closes.
Charnley doesn’t know where we live and couldn’t negotiate his release anyway, the wife would win hands down.

Firstly, the fans need to be united under one official body to oust Ashley, splinter groups protesting outside S D denying Ashley the sale of a few pairs of trainers totalling about £200 quid is like pi$$ing in the wind. Don’t buy the STs, the club kit and don’t pay at the turnstiles. We need 50.000 fans stood in Leazes park every home game, That kind of action costs Ashley about £40+ Mill not a couple of hundred quid, it may not be pretty and it won’t be painless but if we wan’t rid of Ashley it has to be done, or just keep bending over and taking it !
