Poll – Can Newcastle Beat Tottenham Tomorrow?

We play Tottenham Hotspur tomorrow in the early game and it’s the same first game as last season – at home to Tottenham.

Newcastle played well last year until Jonjo Shelvey was sent off early in the second half when the score was 0-0, and we shot ourselves in the foot – and lost 2-0.

The last two seasons under Rafa Benitez we have lost our first two games so maybe things can be different this time around?

Mauricio Pochettino– Spurs’ excellent manager

Given the mood on Tyneside at the moment we could do with a win against a weakened Tottenham side.

A number of their World Cup players are not really match-fit after England’s semi-final place in last summer’s World Cup in Russia and will not play in this game.

Let’s hope we can get 3 points – or at least a draw.

Tottenham didn’t bring in one player in the summer transfer window and they didn’t sell any either.

Rafa wasted money? You tell me then, how much money has been wasted on players? I’ll then show you he’s recouped that back overall by selling having to wheel and deal during his time here. He has not wasted money, he’s made money and is in a negative spend during his time here.

House of Fraser has been placed in admininistration.
Wonder how much money Ashley will splurge on picking up the remnants ?
Clearly very little as that’s his normal strategy isn’t it ?
Or will he rob Peter to pay Paul so to speak as he’s loosing a wad in his HofF investments so far.

By the way that mackem appeared at the hotel here in Portugal again. So, does he seem like A. A very clever bookish looking PhD type. B. A handsome actor type of Tom cruise bloke or C. Thick looking halfwit who seems to wear nothing but his sweaty shit jersey. Answers on a postcard please chaps 🙂

Only 5 times has Rafa been able to buy a player for over £8m. Gayle, Ritchie, Lejuene, Murphy and Muto. Jury is out on muto right now but only Murphy can you say he hasn’t succeeded yet. Gayle and Ritchie were in the championship and both a success.

I’ve never been one of those who rate a player in their price tag but a consistent theme is Rafa has to buy bargains for less than £8m. There are going to be flops as they really are gambles.

Rafa will get no job that will give him 6m @ year and job security like NUFC.

If we are to follow a business model. We have to first stabilze oursleves for two years after relegation to start spending big cash. NUFC made a 90m loss. And we over achieved last year and ambition raised Lets keep our feet grounded and first stabilze ourselves in the EPL

4 of the 7 players bought were relegated with their teams last year.

P@ss poor transfer window. Rafa is too popular with the fans for Ashley’s liking, hence the reason him and his cronies have hatched a plan to force Rafa out.

    Guess what
He’s found some money to spend
    Now ask some questions

Mike Ashley, the Sports Direct tycoon and owner of Newcastle United FC, is on the brink of buying House of Fraser (HoF) in a deal that will make him the most important figure on the British high street.

Sky News can exclusively reveal that Mr Ashley is close to an agreement to buy the department store chain from EY, the accountancy firm that was appointed on Friday morning as its administrator.

@aarons Rafa bought players for championship gave them 5 yrs contracts and then failed to use them in EPL failed to sell them and then wanted more money to spend.

Las season we were still saying we had a bad window we finished 10th. Rafa shld just trust his players. We are a balanced squad full of avergae working playes. Just like England and Croatia at world cup.

@ Aarons Very true all his signings above 8m have been a success except Murphy that was alot of money for a back up.

@Shot Bru Not all players that r relagated r power many factors come to play for u to be relagated. We have been relegated with good players who have come back to EPL and done wonders

Ronaldo it could be argued that Sels lazaar manquillo Murphy Joselu and that Scottish defender who we chased for weeks on end were not good worthwhile buys. That said, all managers buy duds and Rafa bought duds and gems to Liverpool too. Overall he’s bought well and I think this summer he has moulded a better squad for peanuts. Guys like muto and ki will give us everything and so will rondon. The beauty of Rafa’s management is that for two seasons now we have a team who will sweat blood for the shirt. I don’t ever remember having a harder working squad. Having a net profit in the window means you won’t but tricky number 10s like a beardo or 25 goal strikers but what a disciplined unit we have. I bet we are v v hard to play against with scrappers like diame, Perez, dummett, muto Ritchie in the team and them a quarter back like shelvey releasing a bullock like rondon with one pass. Bang, in the onion sack. Dubai you like my mix of American football and agriculture there? ?

@aarons I am not being a bum. I am looking at two sides of the story and MA then Rafa and to be a little realistic. We have had worse years even during Hall years and in the 80’s. We are a big club no one can take that away. But we r commercially selling and the answer is no. we need to be pumped into money for us to rise. MA said he isn’t putting in a dime and he isn’t getting loans. So let’s face that reality and support the club. I hate loans and Wen started using them during Shepherd’s time that was sucide. And almost went into administration.
