Richard Keys Takes Another Cheap Shot At Rafa

Richard Keys doesn’t seem to like Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez.

Why do I say that – because he’s always criticizing the Spaniard on his Twitter account and he can be very nasty.

We were beaten 3-1 last night at Nottingham Forest in the League Cup, and that was an “unfortunate” result for us.

But it was 1-1 two minutes into stoppage time after a nice first goal from new-boy Salomon Rondon

But the result gave more ammunition to those gunning for Rafa Benitez – saying he is out of touch with the modern game and all that complete and utter nonsense.

Richard Keys – another cheap shot at Rafa Benitez

Here’s Richard Keys having another shot across the bows to Rafa.

Rafa’s getting a lot of criticism at the moment, and that’s different from the way he was lauded just last May after having Newcastle finish in 10th place in the Premier League.

Give Rafa a break – please.

His wife or ex-wife says he is a pathological liar. Can only assume here that he is saying that Rafa DOESNT have the tools to have a go at winning the league cup.

The problem on this blog is that from the say Rafa arrived, he could hardly be criticised, and that’s never healthy. For once I agree with keys, we could have competed for that cuo. I don’t blame Rafa for uttings out a weakened team – it made sense. But I think something may be amiss and there is no point blaming Ashley if for losing to forest. As with Cardiff we had good enough players but either they have stopped listening to Rafa or he needs to help them creatively. But we look poor and there is no point completely absolving the manager. That makes no sense. Rafa will be glad of two weeks with his players but if we see dismal efforts after that, then we will know there is something wrong within the dressing room and management. Hoping for best but we have seen poor in pre season too. Its not good.

Liverpool are looking at a new £50m training ground. Need to tell them they’re wasting their money, the current ground is ‘fit for purpose’. If they want some extra ice baths we could loan them a could wheelie bins and paddling pools. Does the job.

I don’t see what Keys has said this time to be false, i think it makes sense.

i listen to you all making excuses and keep saying the same thing, Rafa has got no tools, rafa has been felt a bad hand, Rafa is working for the devil.

rafa gets paid very well, we all have free will, and he can leave if he does not like it here, but 6 million is a lot of money to walk away from, so is he here for the fans or the money?

it’s never going to get better for him regarding Ashley, you could have told him that i could have,

KK couldn’t work for him, Shearer gave wise counsel to Rafa, when he came.

i’d take Karanka everyday over Rafa, Rafa is now a walking excuse

    Munster,
Yes there is something seriously wrong, a team that battled so hard to avoid relegation was filled with a new bunch of players that couldn’t quite manage to stay up.

Stop spouting nonsense. That team yesterday couldn’t even match a championship side! They were completely all over us. 0 shot on target for 90mins.

Your argument that rafa fielded a weak team does not cover the points above. If rafa played a bunch of retired taxi drivers and we got 0 shots on target then I’d agree.

Rafa was lauded for finishing tenth
By who nufc fans who know sod all about football.sorry most nufc fans on here Tenth could so easily of been bottom three we were lucky and you know it
It was boring defensive rubbish we even let West Brom take 4 points off us
He is old hat there is a new breed of managers who like to play pressing expansive football not shut up shop and try to get lucky and Nick a point
If big Sam had of set up his team like Rafa you lot would have been up in arms
    Your hypocrisy is mind boggling
Most other teams fans are not taken in anymore that nufc fans know football
Most posters on here Know nothing
I have stated a few times Rafa is a top bloke and his record is good with teams like Liverpool and Madrid even you lot could send those two teams out
But he is past it and needs to go
Why is he hanging on I will have a stab at it
MONEY MONEY MONEY he wants to be sacked so he doesn’t lose out
Ashley is poison always has been but Rafa a top manager not anymore
    ASH OUT RAFA OUT

rafa managed to get us to scrap through last season. That’s what I meant that we’d be in the championship without him. This season I don’t know how it will turn out as the players are already falling out with him.

This team looks worse than the last season one. Atsu and kenedy on paper sound like players who can cause trouble to a weakened Forest team. Was pathetic by both of them.

Don’t forget. We may have won the championship last time we were there by 70% of our games in the championship was a nightmare to watch. Opponents were all over us but we manage to nick a goal or two and win games.

I was just about to write that I wonder how long will it take Fatboy to turn this around and blame it on Rafa ? But after reading some of the comments on here it looks like the doubters are already on the loose.
So this is for the doubters,
If you own a car and you need a clutch or gearbox replacement or something which isn’t an easy job. Would you take your car to a nice looking garage that has all the mod cons and fantastic selection of tools with a vast knowledge and knowhow with a fixed price ? OR Would you go to a garage with a mechanic of the same stature and knowledge as the previous garage then lurking in the office a greedy fat southern jessie with his pockets stuffed full of cash that appears and says OH that’ll be about the same price but there could be extra money involved and I only deal in cash . You then agree and in goes your car then the mechanic gets out his old box of tools with a hammer and a chisel to ward off them troublesome nuts that are tight, molegrips and a pair of pliers.
Would you walk away feeling happy ?
Now think again before slagging or moaning to a professional manager that hasn’t got the tools that he needs to perform the task that you want him to. He has been as discreet and professional as he possibly can to do this job or saving the team and the club as well as his own personal name and career only for GREEDY COCK-ney to keep all of the funds that he PROMISED AGAIN to give Rafa enabling himself to do the job in hand as well as promoting this FANTASTIC club to the heights that it should be enduring as well as giving us all nose bleeds from the place where we should be and then being able to buy a failing company CASH for a bit less that the total that should have been passed onto Rafa in the first place.
I hope that it’s a bit clearer and you feel like getting behind the team and manager or if not just don’t buy a ticket and hit the Fatboy in the pocket. Rafa doesn’t deserve a part timer telling him he has done his job that he specialises in, WRONG !

I always try to refrain from commenting on the immediate aftermath of a defeat and let things settle for a bit before commenting.

Yesterday’s result was almost predictable. If manager puts out eleven individuals who have never played together as team before that includes players new to the club, new to the country, and new to the league it should therefore come as no surprise that they don’t gel and play like a well oiled machine.

I feel that Benitez should have bolstered the team from the outset with a sprinkling of regulars. Diame would have made a considerable difference playing alongside Longstaff. Similarly, Murphy and Perez.

I can understand Benitez wanting try out some new players and some newly promoted reserves to see how they perform in a competitive match but surely not all at once. It’s best to slot them into a recognized first eleven.

    So what did Benitez learn:

Darlow: Not good enough. Dubravka justifiably the number one keeper.
Clark: Dummett need not fear for his position. Clark looked like a rabbit caught in the headlights, so nervous.
Fernandez: Difficult to tell as this was the second variation of a defence in a week that he has had to adapt to.
Schar: Like Fernandez. A defence operates best as a settled unit. Lascelles & Lejeune need not worry.
Sterry: Did okay in the circumstances. Certainly better than Manquillo. Yedlin also need not worry.
Longstaff: Did okay in the circumstances. Not helped by a very weak Ki. Needs a regular alongside him.
Ki: Very weak and ineffectual. Early days. Could be a very poor buy by Benitez.
Kenedy: Poor. What’s the point of having a tricky winger who never takes on the fullback near the byline ?
Atsu: Poor: Like Kennedy. More effective on the left ? Their first goal was why a player has to get to the byline.
Muto: Was he playing ? Benefit of the doubt. Like Ki, Its early days or early doors.
Joselu: He always tries. But he needed support and service.
Rondon: Knew which side of the goal to aim for. Pleased he’s off the mark.
Perez: Many people don’t like him but I do. It looked like a penalty.
Murphy: He can get to the byline. And he can cross. So why not play him instead of Kennedy ?
