Newcastle have announced their 25 man squad for this season – at least through the end of January and Achraf Lazaar is in the squad.
Rafa couldn’t offload the player and since we are paying his wages he’s sensibly been included in the squad – presumably as left-back cover for Paul Dummett.
He will now get a chance to impress Rafa in the next four months.
It doesn’t look good for Rolando Aarons who is not included in the 25.
Each club can have a maximum of 25 players in the squad and up to 17 players can be included who do not qualify as home grown players.
Rolando Aarons – not included in Newcastle squad
A home grown player must have been on the books of a club affiliated with the FA for at least three years before they turn 21 – and they don’t have to be English.
Clubs do not have to include players on the list who are under 21 and they are eligible to play for the club.
So players like Freddie Woodman and Sean Longstaff – both 20 – do not need to be named in the 25 man squad.
Here is the Newcastle United 25 man squad with * denoting a home grown player.

Darlow, Karl*

“who am i to argue with them, they worked under him. Rafa wants machines”
No matter how hard you try your not going to get anybody to blame Rafa for the so called poor football, you can’t go after his tactics because we only lost by one goal to 3 top six teams with our squad so now your trying to have people believe Rafa’s coaching mindless zombies who almost need programming for everything before the game so you can try and blame the poor football on him,and the sh1t you came out with last week saying Rafa’s too clever for our player’s was ridiculous,he’s coaching professional football player’s,not the cast of the Walking Dead. One of my favourite pastimes on this blog years ago was ripping your post’s apart point by point and making you look silly,i am looking forward to doing that again, and again, very soon.

Comment #3I think that Rafa and the team have done as well as can be expected against the likes of Man City and Spurs for the start of the season not to mention that the ref’s haven’t been on our side either. The only slip up was young Kenedy’s cock up with the penalty but hey, You can’t always score !
We can only go on from this dodgy start and get stronger as well as gel together ( Everyone except Fatman ) Onwards and upwards as the ladies of the Jungle used to say LOL

Comment #4Looking at the games played, (and not the need for all teams having a salary cap, a realistic roster limit and a UK draft) we see how poor NUFC are at offense and defense. In these games, if NUFC happened to have a ball come their way by mistake, the NUFC player was surrounded by opponents in a heartbeat. When the other team got the ball back, NUFC had no ability to surround the man with the ball. So NUFC live in a limbo of “rope-a-dope defense based on cutting off some passing lanes, but leaving other less dangerous ones wide open.

Comment #5I’m not so worried about the three defeats by a goal to top opposition, as much as I am about the displays against Cardiff and Forest.
