Press Conference – Immediate Good News From Rafa Benitez

At his press conference today there’s a bit of good news that both Jonjo Shelvey and Matt Ritchie are in the squad for tomorrow afternoon’s home game against Arsenal.

And Rafa has been talking about the skills of Shelvey and the Newcastle manager thinks he should be in the England team.

It could be that if Jonjo keeps behaving himself on the field, which he’s been doing this year, he could get back into the England setup – his skill is there for all to see.

Jonjo Shelvey – back in the squad for tomorrow’s game

This is some of what Rafa has said about Shelvey and Ritchie during his press conference this afternoon:

“Shelvey and Ritchie are training.”

“There are no big issues – everyone was training.”  “Both Ritchie and Shelvey are in the squad.”

“We have to decide now who can play.”

“I don’t see too many players like him (Shelvey) in the team. Can he play for England? Yes, that’s it.”

“Gareth Southgate is the England manager and I am the Newcastle manager.”

“Should he be in the squad? Yes.”

We expect Javier Manquillo to also be fit and Isaac Hayden is also available after serving his three-match ban for being sent off at Cardiff City.

Having Jonjo and Matt back from injury is excellent news for Newcastle.

I haven’t completely caught up on the blog yet, so this may have been mentioned previously. The cracks are really starting to show.

‘At least three of the ‘big four’ accounting firms have refused to tender for the audit of Sports Direct International, leaving the retailer run by Mike Ashley facing a quandary as it tries to replace Grant Thornton in the role.

Sky News has learnt that EY, KPMG and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) have all ruled themselves out of the process because of potential conflicts of interest and reputational issues relating to the company’s corporate governance, according to insiders.’

    “Reputational issues.”

The cat is out of the bag.

Wow, he’s feeling the pressure isn’t he – obviously wants to bring SD under his control – hounding the shareholders out perhaps?

Ashley does nothing without thinking (apart from puking in fireplaces), so this is an interesting one.

    Wonder whether he needs £300m…

Hopefully those HOF customers that got burned will contact their banks. They should be able to claim their money back due to non receipt of goods. It would have helped if they were advised of that, instead of being led on a merry goose chase. Then again, HOF would possibly lose those funds once the bank claims them back.

Bishop has one of the most difficult tasks in the world right now.

Do you that MA has taken too many financial problems at once. I do ! Hopefully this will mean that he really wants to sell NUFC quickly before all of his money dwindles away.
