Shelvey, Kenedy, Rondon And Lascelles All Start At Crystal Palace

Rafa Benitez has just announced the team to play Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park this afternoon.

And it’s good news in that Shelvey, Rondon, Kenedy, and captain Jamaal Lascelles are back in the side.

That’s the team we thought would start but it picks itself given that Jamaal Lascelles and Jonjo Shelvey are fit again.

Jonjo Shelvey – back in the team

That’s probably the best team we can field this season so there will be no excuses this afternoon if we cannot get a good result against Palace – like a win.

Newcastle fans are divided as to whether we can get out first win of the season – we certainly need it!

A positive lineup. Really hope Rondon shows everyone he can do the job today now that Shelveys back to give better quality passing. Expecting better things from Kenedy.

    Another goal for Mitro! Unbelievable!

Onto Newcastle; we had better win today and fight every ball for 95mins!

I’ll never let up on Mitrovic’s exploits because you know if he flopped those on the other side of the debate would’ve forever brought it up.

Sad how so many could see he would perform with the right backing and a genuine run in the team. Pretty sure he never started 10 games in a row here and yet in his debut season in the PL, under sponge brain Schteve and aged just 20, he had a mins/goal record only Ba and Carroll bettered for us since Shearer’s retirement.

Since his league debut for Fulham in February, no player has scored more league goals in English football than Aleksandar Mitrovic’s 17.
He has five in the league this season.

Will their 3 man midfield get the better of diame and shelvey? Due to numbers alone they will which doesn’t bode well but man they’ve got pace in their team, front three and full backs are quick.

Here’s hoping we perform well today.

red card and further match bans from the Fa for violent conduct, may be.
But that will not be needed since he will be on the score sheet later on today.

LOL Mitro top scorer in PL now. Blame it on Ashley again?

Seems like whatever Rafa do is always right, everything that’s wrong it’s always Ashley’s fault.

Yep fergie got rid of pogba for the same reasons he did with Beckham and others, off field antics and dictating to play was always going to end one way.

Rafa did sell Alonso as he wanted Aquilani, on Mitro the big difference is he has a squad devoid of quality get sells as well as refuses to play an international over a gash Spaniard who will never get double figures in the PL or likely anywhere else at top level. Fergie could replace pogba with other quality players.

Zaha still doesn’t look overly comfortable out there during the warm up. He keeps holding his back – & goes down the tunnel for extra treatment looking rather glum.

Season really does start now for us and upto boxing day. We should reserve overall rafa judgement until then.
A line up might suddenly click so lets wait til final whistle and judge then regarding rafa game plan and subs and in game management for todays game.
