Major Injury Problems Reported – Two Magpie Defenders Ruled Out – Another To Have Fitness Test

Craig Hope in an exclusive in the Mail this afternoon is reporting that both Paul Dummett and Federico Fernandez have been ruled out of tomorrow’s game against Leicester City.

And DeAndre Yedlin will have a late fitness test.

Paul Dummett – ruled out with a hamstring problem

Fernandez and Dummett both have hamstring injuries so they will likely not be fit for the game at Old Trafford next Saturday.

DeAndre Yedlin has an ankle problem but is expected to be fit.

We suppose the Ciaran Clark will come in for the in-form Federico Fernandez and probably Javier Manquillo will deputize for Dummett.

Newcastle have not been successful in getting another specialist left back to push Dummett for the starting position.

This is a late major blow to Newcastle and lessens the chance we can get the win tomorrow – but of course, it’s still possible.

Shit this is bad news. And what happens when you don’t invest. Jail is it OK for me to moan about Ashley. Seeing as I am a non English toon supporter.

Joe Bryan was available for 6 million, Kevin Mbabu was also available he can play LB or RB and wanted to return to nufc over the summer and has since gone on to be a full international and playing champions league football with young boys. Ashley was more interested in the HOF deal than nufc transfer dealings. You get what deserve Mike, I hope it all blows up in your face.

Assuming that Yedlin will fail his fitness test tomorrow, I think this could be the team…

    Dubravka
    Sterry Lascelles Schär Manquillo
    Ritchie Shelvey Diame Kenedy
    Perez
    Joselu

Rafa might prefer Clark to Sterry or Schär but, based on his recent performance at LB and Manquillo’s at RB, this just might be the way to go.

A horrible mess now. We don’t have the fill-ins needed to succeed. A much weaker back four to face the likes of Vardy. A real challenge for Rafa. Manquillo is just not good enough. It can get worse if we continue to get injuries to key players. I wonder what the team spirit is like these days. Best wishes to the lads for tomorrow.

Dammm Fernandez has been our best defender this year massive loss if true.

So tomorrow we play a very good Leicester team without an attack and defence, we are so unlucky as Newcastle fans, injuries no investment leading to playing some of the most boring football in the league. Surely if we go down this season (which is a huge possibility) No way will Rafa stay on again and we may be stuck down there for a while.

Jib, heard via Talksport that the moose is currently in Newcastle, with him apologising, stating it is a great place. He visited some museums, was on his way to the biscuit factory but was told by a presenter that it was an art place and won’t get any jammy dodgers. He was to visit tynemouth but only after he popped into the strawberry pub. He is loving the place and is saying he didn’t realise how good it was and not what he was expecting.

He is not stopping for the match though, not sure what the crowd reaction would be.

@ Geordie two, the pictures shown of the players in training shows everyone smiling, whether they were told to give a smile, but suspect everything is ok and the players are happy enough.

    Dubkravka
    Sterry Lascelles Clark Schaar
    Ritcjie Shelvey Diame Kenedy
    Fernandez Muto

All I am saying, is give youth a chance.

Schaar is more than capable of filling in any spot across the back line. I’d include Roberts and Longstaff in my line up but that’s not going to happen with Rafa.

Paul merson is a k@@@ and always has been
But he makes one valid point
Why the love in with Rafa he is just another manager
His record is on a par with the worst managers we have had and plays football like big Sam
10th last year was close to being relegation
Worst star ever this season what is with some of you
Are you so used to watching mediocre nufc performances that you will accept a manager who has a record so bad he could eclipse carver and pardew
    ASH OUT RAFA OUT

If Rafa hadn’t wasted this summers transfer budget on Muto he could have bought a decent left back as competition for Dummett.

I reckon the 10 games after Man Utd could yield 15+ points. A win tomorrow would really set that up for us, but I can’t see it happening. Another point would not be a catastrophe.

I think it is going to be tough especially if we get injuries as the squad is not the strongest – most likely the weakest – defence strongest part of our game but losing the four is Big hole – 3 of which could be out a while – we cannot score goals adds up recipe for a struggle

Just a thought, all the talk about Rafa may stay or leave due to Ashley not backing him. I remember a few weeks back one manager was spouting off about how Rafa should just stop whining and get on with it. If he leaves don’t be surprised if Ashley goes after Neil Warnock, yes he’s the one saying Ashley was a clever person or something along those lines. Be worried what we wish for, Neil phucking Warnock.

Injuries could make us shuffle the pack, and a different team dynamic may result in a different style of play. Different could be better, but most importantly can’t be much worse than are terrible start so far. Only credit has been we haven’t been spanked yet. How about we try something a bit different? Attack at home?
