In the first half on Saturday Newcastle looked like they could score goals at will.
We had scored only four league goals in seven games and yet in the first 10 minutes at Old Trafford we scored two goals.
And they were terrific goals from Kenedy and Muto, and both players had excellent games.
But they had to be taken off in the second half.
Muto and Kenedy after Muto’s first goal for Newcastle
We hope they are only minor injuries and Rafa hinted at that after the game.
This is what Rafa said when asked about how he thought Muto played:
“I think it was important for us to have some mobility and pace in attack, and his understanding with Ayoze Perez was quite good.”
“Unfortunately, Kenedy and him both left the pitch with some problems.”
“We still had to defend and counter-attack, and they were pushing and pushing you have to give credit to the Manchester United team.
“They were very strong and we couldn’t cope with that.”
“It’s just little things (the injuries).” “Muto is his ankle, Kenedy was a knock, and he was limping at the end.”
Muto’s goal was an opportunist goal; he got the ball in the penalty area and had four players around him, but he swung around and hammered the ball into the back of the net.
It’s a goal we have seen Dwight Gayle score,.
And we are hoping that Muto can continue to score goals for us this season as he gets used to the physical play in England.
We need them.

If he was a decent manager, he wouldn’t have picked them!

Comment #3What’s with Atsu these days? He’s so poor I can’t beleive it. He’s a momentum killer, in several games he’s come on and made the side significantly weaker. Unfortunately Murphy is not much better, our bench is wafer thin…
