We should have expected this.
Reports are coming out that Newcastle are looking at Celtic and former Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers to replace Rafa Benitez.
They say if Rafa cannot improve things at Newcastle soon, he could be out and Rodgers is one of the candidates to replace the world-class manager.
Rodgers is not a world-class manager.
The Mirror report is an exclusive and is just a little laughable.
Brendan Rodgers of Celtic – nowhere near world-class
Here’s some of the Mirror report from Adrian Kajumba:
“It is their next three games – against Brighton, Southampton and Watford – that are now understood to be pivotal for Benitez and a better indicator of Newcastle’s prospects.”
“Newcastle’s poor start to the campaign has put Benitez under further scrutiny and their worrying form is becoming increasingly hard to ignore.”
There have been complaints from fans and others about how the press seem to misunderstand what’s going on at Newcastle.
This is another example of that.
We don’t rate Rodgers very highly but if Rafa leaves the club it will be a tragedy of immense proportions for both Newcastle and for owner Mike Ashley.
And there will be even more protests to get Ashley out of the club.
We don’t even want to think about it.
There seems no truth in the Mirror report – but we may have to replace Rafa in June if he decides to leave the club.
What do you think?
