Former Player Remains A Geordie – Still Supports Newcastle In These Difficult Times

Jonas Gutierrez watched the Newcastle game at Southampton on Saturday and before the game started he sent out three tweets of support for the Newcastle club.

Jonas is keeping in touch with Newcastle and he says he would like to join the club sometime in the future if that would be possible.

We have only 3 points from the first 10 games and former players as well as fans are getting a little worried and we need a win as soon as possible.

The very last thing we need is yet another relegation under Mike Ashley.

Jonas was a good player for us and stayed on board after his first season when we were relegated in 2009 and he helped us to get straight back to the Premier League under the excellent leadership of manager Chris Hughton.

In his final months as a Newcastle player, he was successful in fighting testicular cancer and the disease remains in remission.

Jonas Gutierrez scores in the 89th minute against West Ham in May 2015
It ensured a 2-0 win and Newcastle were safe in the Premier League for one more season

Jonas plays for Defensa y Justicia in Argentina and he took to Twitter to send messages to the Newcastle faithful who hold the man in high esteem.

Here are then tweets Jonas sent on Saturday before the game started,

Jonas played 205 times with 12 goals and 27 assists for Newcastle and it would be great if he can return to Newcastle at some point in the future.

While Lascelles is still the official
club captain – Martin Dubravka seems
to have picked up the leadership reins.
To me a goalie is the obvious choice
as he can see all before him – just
think of the many good years Juventus
had with Gianluigi Buffon (over 650 games)
    shouting the odds

Maybe when the current captain is sold in the summer Jibbers, but how much would it take to tempt Mikey in to letting a keeper he only paid 4M for. I reckon 15M would be too much for his fat slobbering chops.
