Salomon Rondon has returned from his International exploits and he will be ready to play for Newcastle in our game at Turf Moor next Monday night.
By then the other teams in the Premier League will have played their games so we will know where we stand in the league.
At the moment we have 9 points from 12 games but we are just a single point above third-bottom club Cardiff City.
We are level on points with Burnley but have a better goal difference
Burnley finished 7th last season and qualified for the Europa League, but this season has not been a good one so far for the Turf Moor club.
Salomon Rondon – in training at Newcastle
It’s going to be another difficult game for us on Monday night and this is what Rondon has said about the game in the Chronicle today:
“We go to Burnley in good spirits but also knowing that the Premier League is very difficult.” “Things can change from week to week.”
“That’s because every team is at such a high level and no matter whether you are home and away each team is going to have a great chance of three points.”
“Most importantly we have to be up for the battle.” “We have to be ready.”
“We’ll have to do the same things we did in the wins against Bournemouth and Watford.”
“I have flown to Japan and Iran for games.” “It has been a long way but it is part of international football.”
“That’s what it’s like for the international players to represent their countries, and I’m always happy to do that.”
“I was always happy to take the number 9 shirt.” “I know what came before with it with players like Alan Shearer and Andy Cole wearing the important number.”
“We all know what has happened in the history books.” “For me, the most important thing is confidence.”
Here are where we are in the standings before this weekend’s Premier League games.

I’ve got loads of mates who don’t go to games, they’ll make an afternoon of it and sit in the pub while the game’s on, so getting them up to Newcastle never mind Shirebrook to protest isn’t going to happen. However, I know for a fact I could persuade them to part with a quid a week to fund a protest movement. I don’t know why they haven’t gone down this route. All those flags don’t pay for themselves, people won’t fork out when they know they’re in the minority. I was going to go to Shirebrook until I found out they were only putting one bus on and that it would be “cost” price. I’m fortunate enough to be able to afford it but not everyone has got thirty quid to spare, a quid each from 10.4K followers could have sent 500 people there for free, some would have gone just for the day out.

Comment #84Ashley isn’t going to give the club up for
nothing – so how does making him suffer at
Shirebrook produce a buyer ?
No logic to folks thinking

Comment #85Disappointingly the Magpie Group appear to be losing momentum. The last two results haven’t helped their cause and Geordie being the eternal optimist has decided in the main to carry on supporting Rafa and the team with Ashley’s ownership no longer a pressing issue.
Having listened to the podcast I believe that these lads are doing their best to muster support for their attempts to oust Ashley but the fans are just not getting involved in their numbers. I think if we had lost the last two matches the anger and resentment towards Ashley would be at boiling point and they would have had a real chance to get the required support. Now however I think complacency has set in again.

If Ashley’s paying a legal team to deal with any enquiries, he’s wasting his money and will do so as long as he’s clearly overpricing the club which is probably shackled by contracts with Ashley entitities other than but including .SD
