Still No Meaningful Update From Newcastle On This Player

Newcastle United left-back Paul Dummett was injured playing for Wales against Denmark last week, and we still don’t know the extent of the injury.

The news yesterday was that the Newcastle medics want a further assessment of the injury, but it looks like he will not make the Burney games on Monday night.

That’s the bad news – the good news is that it doesn’t seem like a severe injury that will keep him out of the side for too long.

But we don’t really know what the situation is, and it’s surprising there have basically been no updates on the injury from the club.

Dummett has posted this on his Instagram account:

Paul was the only Newcastle player injured on International duty and the other players have now all returned to Newcastle.

Rafa will have five days to prepare them for the game at Burnley on Monday night, and the game will be televised live around the world.

It would be a great time to get our first win away from home this season and three wins on the trot, which is never easy to achieve in the Premier League.

Howay The Lads!!

We can do it!

I wonder if Paul’s absence will make a few sit up and realise how good a defender the ladreally is?

3-5-1-1 is my preferred option for Monday, but I, like Robleenio, can’t see it happening.

It doesn’t take away the fact that a first finish in over thirty years above their nearest rivals was up for grabs, just because they played shit does not take the shine off a memorable result.

We only got one point from Burnley last season
    in our 2 games.
Rafa tried to get a point at Turf Moor but we were
undone by a late Hendrick goal.
Our strike force that day was Perez and Joselu with
Gayle coming on for the last 10 minutes.
Strangely Dummett was out for that game with Manquillo
    doing a decent job.
I feel we have enough this time round with Rondon Kenedy
Ki etc too be a bit more adventurous.

I hope I haven’t been on Rafa’s case too much

was there any faux outrage there ?

I think I may have got away with it
