Rafa And Fans The Big Winners If Takeover Goes Through

We know this could be another red herring that Ashley has put out to give some leeway to refuse to provide Rafa the money he needs to improve the Newcastle team next month.

So with that in mind, it does seem that there are buyers interested in acquiring Newcastle and with the team winning three games in a row that interest will have solidified.

We’ll just have to hope we can keep picking up the points, and mostly wins, so we can get away from the relegation zone.

If we are in a decent position as we play more games in December, then would-be buyers would want to seal a deal so they can improve the side in January so there would be little chance of another relegation.

If a takeover does happen before the end of the season and before Rafa’s contract runs out Rafa himself will be a big winner.

Rafa Benitez and the Geordie Nation

This is his third tough season at Newcastle, but the fans simply adore the man.

He has the brilliance and down to earth attitude which the Geordie Nation have taken to.

And his comments recently about wanting to keep winning things will be a message to Ashley but also to any new buyers who may be looking at Newcastle.

If this does happen one big winner will be the manager, and because of his patience, calmness, brilliance, and diplomacy, Rafa Benitez deserves it.

His new deal could be made public at the same time the acquisition is announced – but we are getting way ahead of ourselves.

It would seem very difficult for any deal to be completed before the end of the year even though Ashley says that’s what he would like to see.

Let’s hope if Ashley is still the owner in January then he will provide Rafa with the funds he needs to get four players in.

Rafa and the Recruitment Team have already identified the transfer targets.

This latest episode from last night could be another red herring from Ashley for sure.

But it could also be the real thing – and that’s worth thinking about if you want to cheer yourself up.

Maybe we should create some flags asking a billionaire with real ambition for Newcastle to buy the club and show them at the wolves game.

Sorry to tell you all, this is just another PR stunt by fat man. I would be more surprised if it went through than if it did not.
I dont know the legal time it takes for a change of chairman, but a change over by January?? But don’t get your hopes up so high.

Is there anyone that thinks this alleged sale might actually happen? I’m very hopeful but extremely skeptical

    Mike Williamson

Could you explain how it’s the final nail in the coffin for TMG and how you’ve came to the conclusion Ashley has beaten his enemy.

Is this a case of mistaken identity caused by Mike’s PR firm leaving “Blank” in the “Insert interested parties here” part of the latest propaganda memo?

    I’ll have a guess at three –

    7th Earl of Lucan
    Zeus
A Unicorn. Preferably a rainbow one.

The only thing stopping me believing this is another wind up is the current mood of fans also TMG parliament and the local MP.

Personally I think it can be a win,win for Ashley or the new owner.

New owner purchases the club and invests in Jan for additional players needed badly. That investment would be paid back end of year with monies generated from league position and tv money.

Now Ashley, he does not sell in Jan, has to invest in Jan to make sure we stay in league, also gets his investment back end of season as that’s what he is about, we are still in league and that then would be attractive to a buyer.

Would prefer the new owner now scenario, it’s hard to trust someone who cry’s wolf every year.

Ashley wins by selling the club when the time is right for him, not by keeping the club forever. He’s already a long-term owner compared to a lot of clubs, which tend to change hands fairly regularly.

If the time is right for him now, we’ll get a new owner. If it isn’t, we won’t.

I think Ashley must recognise holding on to the club can only damage Sports Direct by association now, given that the mood of the fans is toxic. He doesn’t want to be associated with that and doesn’t want his SD brand to be either. As someone says, why have a PR firm and not use them?

Also, he may not get a better chance to re-privatise Sports Direct with the share price being suppressed. He’ll need to raise funds to do that, selling NUFC is one way.

Finally, he needs to have the right buyer in place. It sounds like right now he may have two or more.

Are the stars aligning? Time will tell. In the meantime, I’ll keep a healthy level of scepticism.

Oh, one other factor – the level of investment required in the club is high right now. He needs to improve the facilities at the stadium and the training ground, we need money spent on players and he needs to raise the wages of several of the existing team or risk losing them.

If he doesn’t spend this money, he could end up losing far more as we drop down the league, but if he spends it, will he ever get it back? Only if we get up towards the higher end of the league regularly and that’s not guaranteed. Better from a business sense to get out and let someone else take the risk.

The main stumbling block that I can see for any takeover to go through is the arrangement surrounding the SD advertising. I just can’t see the fat man relinquishing access to all those free adverts.

Betty I think the main stumbling block is the fact that lad SORENSEN has been overlooked in all this 🙂

Most likely the owner will continue to invest nothing, reap the benefit at the end of the season and repeat.
