Rafa has just finished his press conference this afternoon for the rather tough game at Goodison Park tomorrow night against Everton.
And as expected Rafa and the players are concentrating on how we can win at Goodison Park tomorrow night.
One the takeover talk he says we have been here before but we must concentrate, and it’s going to business as usual at the club.
Rafa Benitez – at a previous press conference
Here’s some of what Rafa had to say:
“I was talking today with Lee Charnley and the message is very clear – business as usual.”
“We have been in the situation in the past and we have to carry on.”
“We have an important game to play and must concentrate.”
“We have been working on that and we will still be working on the same idea.”
“We have to look for targets and be ready for January.”
“Dummett is still not ready. Hayden is unavailable, like Darlow.”
“Every game for us is a final, every game is quite difficult – it will be a tough game, like always in the Premier League.”
“It’s just about keeping the confidence high because we can do it.”
“It’s always good to play another game soon after a defeat, to put your heads down and have to react quickly.”
“Paul Dummett is a great professional, he’s always doing well, but if he is not there we have to manage.”
“Pérez is working so hard in every game and doing a great job for the team. We cannot forget that he was the top scorer last year.”
When the Amanda Staveley bid was dragging on late last year that’s when we went 9 games and got only got one point.
We cannot let this latest distraction of Ashley said to be close to selling the club interfere with the team’s ability to win games.
The more wins we can get by the end of the year the higher the probability the club will be sold early next year.
Comments welcome.

Comment #2Good message Rafa, the last thing we need right now is for the team to start to implode. Keep them on their toes and battling as a unit and let the corporate activities look after themselves

Comment #3Spent too much time on my dedication to have it lost in blog prehistory so i’ll keep reposting till the bus stops!
Whether he sells or not, I feel a certain blogger deserves recognition for his dedicated and (very) persistent efforts to spread the message of discontent at Mr Ashley’s tenure.
I have therefore dedicated the following to this blogger, there are clues in the message as to who it might be!

Comment #5Big game for the U23s tonight in the second Ko round of the Checktrade Trophy against League 2 Macclesfield.
Be interesting to see who’s left out of the team or if Ben Dawson will be pushing for all of his top players to be available.
I’d imagine that the Silkmen will field a strong team as it’s probably their best chance of some silverware.

Didn’t you know, Lord Lucan is working at a chip shop in Hartlepool with some aged ex Rock and roll star.

Comment #10OP – I think nobody turning up to the Shirebrooks protest was 1-0 to Ashley. A half arsed (and unneccessary) demo at West Ham 2-0, and the same again at Wolves 3-0. I can’t see them doing anything else. One demo would have had a better chance, and it should have been called after a bad defeat. Maybe the 3-0 vs West Ham and these rumours will help at Wolves, but it doesn’t look that way. Anyway, looks like he’ll be gone soon so maybe they can claim victory.

I think they can use a few older players as well so maybe Dawson will call upon the likes of Clarke or Murphy. The further the lads go the better chance they have of getting a good loan or a call up to their national youth teams.

Comment #18If Huddersfield win at Bournemouth tonight
we’ll drop one place.
Same if Cardiff win at West Ham
If they both win we’ll drop to 17th
The rest of the teams beneath us play tomorrow
and even if those 3 win , positions in the league are
unaffected.

Comment #29Toon 22, I hate Ashley almost as much as you, don’t think anyone could hate him the same amount as you. But I really don’t know what good the empty seats are going to do. Countrywide if not worldwide know how we feel about him so don’t think empty seats will make a difference and he has the cash anyway so still getting the money. Something has to be done but I don’t think that will work. Unless I’ve been proved wrong after yesterday’s announcement after the 11 min walk in on Saturday. Let’s just hope it is true tho must of us are still a bit doubtful just live in hope but it the hope that kills you

Comment #30Although certain sections of “support” and the fun-loving media who treasure moments of pathos at NUFC like to point out the “failure” of protests, you can’t say it’s unsuccessful when you see Ashley spinning up the old PR juggernaut once again for his usual bout of deflection. And if he actually, really, goes well then it’s been massively successful, surely?

Comment #34Recommended this site to a couple of mates about a month ago, when last out with them they both said the site was crap due to a bloody frog and music related themes. Even mentioned the radio Ham thing. didn’t mind the arguments re football related and accepted that when the subject is about football it’s ok.
I must admit when the frog comes on I tend to stay away from the site. I don’t come on when the music is the main topic as I have my own particular brand of music which is personal to me.
I don’t think a few on here gives Dr Ed a tthought and

Comment #40Anyone buying into this BS propaganda coming out of Ashley has the memory of a goldfish. It’s the same tactic he used this time last year with the Stavely deal. Wonder if we’ll get a well orchestrated ‘dinner’ with the ‘new owner’ before everything falls apart in time for MA not to invest in January and once again roll the dice no relegation?
