There’s a report in Sports Witness today that Newcastle United are interested in Junior Firpo who has been at Real Betis for four years and this season made his breakthrough into the first team.
He has been in outstanding form this season and has played 16 times with three goals and two assists in all competitions so far this season,
Firpo was born in the Dominican Republic and has lived most of his life in Spain, and he holds citizenship for both countries.
In late August this year, Junior was called up to the Spanish U21 team and made his debut in early September starting in a 3–0 win against Albania.
22-year-old Real Betis left-back Junior Firpo – Newcastle interested
ABC Sevilla are reporting that the Newcastle and Crystal Palace are the two Premier League clubs most interested in the 22-year-old.
He has a €50m release clause in his contract at Real Betis, but no club is going to pay that amount for him – certainly not Newcastle.
Junior seems committed to Real Betis and told his agent earlier this season that he didn’t want to hear anything about transfers.
Not until the January transfer window opens next month because he wants to concentrate on playing well for Betis.
This is what Junior has said about the January transfer window:
“Until then, nothing can happen. It’s 100% true that I don’t know anything. I told my agent clearly that he isn’t to tell me anything. Maybe he’ll inform me on January 1st.”
Rafa and Newcastle could try to get the 22-year-old on a bargain buy because of his lack of experience.
But that may not be possible with Manchester City also said to be interested in the player.
Unless the cost of the player is £10M or less we don’t think Newcastle will pursue this potential target – but we’ve been wrong before.
The other left-back Rafa is interested in for the January transfer window is 19-year-old PSG French left-back Stanley N’Soki.
He was priced at €10M in early August but the youngster thought it was early to switch to the Premier League.
What do you think?

Comments welcome.

Re post from Friday Nov 30. 2018 at 9.13 pm.
In reply to to Jesper 79 regarding a proposed £25Mill bid for Miguel Almiron by NUFC in January.
“Ashley definitely won’t cough up 25Mill for anyone but it would make more sense if Ashley were gone before the Jan window and it’s the new American owner/s that are shopping with a wish list , it would also mean Rafa’s new contract wouldn’t be Ashley’s problem anymore”.
If we are clutching at straws then i’ll clutch at this one. I think it has more legs than Ashley paying £ 25Mill for Almiron or Ashley offering Rafa a 5yr contract totalling about £50 Mill with add-ons.

Comment #83Last week’s Roger Nouveau award goes to Tsunki with this comment.
Tsunki had me Laughing on Saturday with this faux pas .
“I think our defence is too heavyweight for little pee. They’ll probably wheel Carroll out midway second half, but by that time Atsu will be on to give zabaleta a heart attack and force their defensive switch.
Ha ha .. Have you never seen a good little un’ with low center of gravity and great feet give big defenders the runaround ? .they play their football on the ground not in the Air ! Ha . Gave me a laugh. Peter Beardsley perhaps ? Stick to tiddlywinks Tsunki .

Sparky55 bought the shirt from one of my St Oswald Hospice charity events and he is a cracking bloke. Met him and have had a few texts back and forth over the last few months.
It is a shame the grief he got as all he did was pass on what he was told.
Folk can read it, take it or reject it.
It’s a blog at the end of the day for banter/craic about our club.
I look forward to seeing Sparky55 back on here.

Comment #85Your a good writer Tsunki ..you remind me of Alan Coren .
I always enjoy a post from you when you are on the barbed attack and at the end of any post you deftly slip that Stiletto knife from your cuff , use it effectivly, then tuck it away ready for the next victim.
Always interesting.
You had a pop at me Saturday ? Well there’s my retort …Roger.

Bloody shattered mate !
Typical when I have no WiFi all the rumours/info/tea-leaves come together with strong hint of a sale.
I was always told ‘Keep your powder dry ‘ and once Ash does leave I am sure many sources will start releasing more stuff – they are all scared stiff of losing their jobs these days.
I hope Ash does sell up this time, maybe as it becomes closer we may find out more…..
Cheers fella

Him and his missus Fiona were living the Country Life in Northumberland. Don’t know if Macclesfield is a fair swap but good luck to them.

As we wait for pens here at the game, back to music, funny story for you when I mentioned canned heat. At the end of the gig when autographs were being signed I got the kylie ticket I had just picked up from metro radio after winning it. The lad who signed can’t remember his name said he couldn’t wait to get back home and tell everyone he had signed a Kylie ticket
Any other info you can share without dropping anyone in the will be great about this takeover

Comment #119Jail…… Depends where you’re looking to buy it from. A lot of shops have crazy mark ups as they have such big overheads so shop around and look online for the best price. Haven’t got a quartz watch personally but as long as you get a fair deal you’ll be ok if you like it.

Comment #120Rafa won’t be happy shipping 3, and if the rumoured sale has any legs will want to sort that out first and foremost. With games now coming thick and fast, he might even go with a back four of Schar, Lascelles, Fernandez and Clark, with Diame holding, up against what really is a very good Everton side away at Goodison.
