Three Changes – Lascelles, Atsu And Murphy Start At Goodison

Rafa Benitez has just announced his team for the tough game at Goodison Park tonight which has 7:45 pm kickoff time and it’s not exactly been a good away ground for us over recent years.

We surprisingly lost 3-0 at home to West Ham on Saturday afternoon and it’s vital that the players try to get back to their winning ways.

It looks like Rafa will play five at the back tonight with Lascelles coming back in Manquillo keeping his place at left-back.

Jamaal Lascelles returns to the side after injury

Murphy and Atsu come into the side at the expense of Perez and Ritchie – who is suspended for this game.

As we’ve mentioned in earlier articles today if Newcastle can keep winning games a takeover could even happen this month, or if not this year then in January.

But we cannot have another slump and slip back into the relegation zone.

There is not a lot of confidence from fans that we can win the game tonight with only one in seven thinking we can get all 3 points.

    Great result
Got to follow up against Wolves going to be tough as we have to make the running which leaves us susceptible to the counter attacks.
Like the ‘three at the back’ with the full backs playing as half backs
Diame people want him dropped for Shelvey – No way – Diame does the dirty yards gets the tackles in disrupts their attacks yes looks clumsy but does a hell of job

Well I’m off – certainly happy with a point that I would have taken gladly before kick off . And Remember tomorrow MAY bring us a day nearer to new owners. I’ll leave you with that promising thought.

I hope we do sign Almiron, but if we do I doubt Rafa will pitch him straight in. He won’t be desperate to trust a guy with so little big time experience. He’ll be one for next season primarily, and the latter 3rd of this if we are comfortable and he impresses in training.

Well, it’s been an eventful day… the toon fighting for a point at Merseyside and The takeover progressing quicker than most of us could have hoped for… I will bid you all a good night and hopefully tomorrow brings us further good news…..

3 at the back might give us the chance to rest Diame though, and take a look at Shelvey alongside Ki. Hard to keep leaving that level of quality out, but yeah, it’s a big call.

Didn’t see game as was working but expected a defeat , think that’s a good point – we’re basically in a mini league with the bottom 8 teams and we’ve managed 5 points from relegation spot – anyone else expecting more with the investment we’ve had is deluded

Diame sometimes starts games slow but he never gives up and then ends up putting in some great blocks

At home that is. You do need Diame in there away from home for now, I suppose, but 3 at the back, would suggest we’d need him less at home.

The wife has sent me to Coventry
She came into the room with 15 minutes
to go and I sent her away with a flea in her ear
This is going to cost me big time

Although diames touch and play when facing our defenders is something that scares the shit out of me at times,we need him in midfield doin the grunt work,if we had better controlling ball players with his work rate, he would be on the bench…but we dont so we make do with what we have, just wish he’d sharpen up his game and work on his fitness at the start of the seasons….he seems to be 4-6 games behind most players at the start of the season….ki and him make a good pair in midfield, best pair in form we have for now.
