There’s good news today that the Chronicle are reporting that sources tell them four bids have been received for the club and they are all about 300M – the price Ashley wants for the club.
If that is true, it’s good news, but we don’t blame fans one little bit if they are still skeptical until the deal is actually done – if that’s to happen.
But it’s looking more likely that Mike Ashley could be out of Newcastle before the end of January.
That’s why it’s crucial Newcastle go all out in early January to try to get some of Rafa’s transfer targets through the door.
Miguel Almiron – let’s hope we can sign him in early January
The top target seems to be Atlanta United playmaker Miguel Almiron.
It’s possible in the MLS to find out what each individual player receives in wages.
It looks like Almiron gets £1,502,709 yearly which could rise to about £1,804,822 with bonuses, according to the Chronicle.
So Almiron could expect that wage to increase by at least 50% if he signs on at Newcastle – maybe even double?
He’s getting close to £30K/week and that rise to say £45K/week or more at Newcastle with bonuses included.
What could also help Newcastle sign Almiron in January is the recent news that Newcastle have received four bids.
And if the club is sold, it’s almost certain that Mr. Rafa Benitez will sign a new long-term deal to stay at Newcastle.
Rafa will deserve every penny he gets for guiding the club so well in the last 30 months or so.
Almiron’s shirt is also the fifth most popular player based on the sale of player shirts – he is one of the best players in the league.
The season will be over after the MLS Championship game between Atlanta and Portland this Saturday, and there’s no reason Newcastle cannot agree a deal soon, and have it made official on January 1st.
Head of Recruitment Steve Nickson will travel to Atlanta this week to begin negotiations for the player with Atlanta officials and his agent.
Let’s hope we can get Almiron to Newcastle by early January.
It would be nice to have a signing announced very soon and before the end of the month.
What do you think?
Comments welcome.
Please help the needy at Christmas.
The website NEoffers.co.uk are running their Christmas campaign for the needy in the local Newcastle areas.,
Let’s see if we all can help more people in real need this Christmas and give people the greatest gift they will receive this year.
If you can do this it would be really appreciated – please give here.

Comment #41Ashleys comments on Monday are frustrating to say the least.
How far along are the negotiations really, has he accepted bids etc etc etc…
Waiting for more news will be a killer and I suspect the blog will go into meltdown several times before the club changes hands.
Ashley certainly knows which buttons to press

I know you can’t say much but…
Is the buyer you’ve heard of from the USA?
Is it a single buyer or consortium?
Thanks, I understand if you don’t wish to say..

@39
You put yourself in a perilous position when indicating you had some real news for this blog.
Some of the guys got their intentionally good news wrong last year and a few muppets on here ripped into them.
Personally I enjoy being kept upto date with any seemingly positive news. I’m a big lad and know what will happen… will happen anyway.
Keep up the good work.

Comment #61If the club is sold then I won’t mention MA again
So long as he is fully gone and not have a Rangers scenario play out
But it’s just not happening,he’s not going to sell
We have been here before
Funny how buyers turn up exactly when he needs them
Only for it all to fall through once the transfer window closes
Over and over again

Comment #67I said in pre-season that if I was a foreign investor looking to buy a British club, I’d wait until after Brexit when the pound will lose 5-10% in value. I expect this sale will go through the day after the Brexit deal is announced when the pound will be at it’s lowest (especially if it’s a terrible deal or no deal). You’d be a fool to buy it before.
Ashley’s knocked a lot off his asking price by pocketing money in the summer (against his debt presumably), and Brexit will knock another chunk off if you have foreign money. If I’m right, at least some good has come of Brexit!

Comment #69Just wait till the sale falls through
They might even drag it out till March
But once it obviously don’t happen ,and it becomes obvious MA is treating us like mugs
The levels of toxicity and anger will rise
And the protests and the disillusionment will increase
He’s playing the entire fan base and thinks he’s clever enough to get away with it forever
He’s going to find out it will hit his entire business
Wish it was different but it’s simply not

Comment #77Online Guy – while i can still post before you get me banned (I’ll try again in an hour, eh?) First off i don’t remember “having a go” at you on Saturday, second of all my comment on our defence was before the game started, and my follow up comment was as self effacing as it needed to be in light of our disappointing let down on Saturday – are you saying i was the only one surprised at the capitulation? I realise you want to score points but your overblowing pontification and high and mighty attitude is only outdone by your sheer creepyness. Give it a rest and I’ll ignore you. Unless you want to rake over your embarrassing episodes?
