Rafa’s Answers To Two Important Questions Following Draw At Everton

After the game last night Rafa was again asked about two big topics regarding Newcastle United.

The first is whether a takeover of the club is close to being completed – perhaps even this month.

Mike Ashley reported Monday night in a rare Sky Sports interview that he was in advanced talks with a potential buyer of the club.

Since then the Chronicle and others have reported there are four buyers looking at acquiring the club.

One in advanced negotiations is presumably the one led by Peter Kenyon who seems to have secured financing from the Rockefeller Capital Group.

The second question is whether we have already agreed a deal for 24-year-old Atlanta United playmaker Miguel Almiron with the Paraguayan International said to be keen to join Rafa Benitez at Newcastle.

A smiling and confident looking Rafa Benitez

Here’s what Rafa said about the takeover, making sure he gave nothing away:

“No, I told you two days ago.” “And today is the same – it is business as usual.”

“I don’t see any difference for us against Wolves or the next games.”

“If I don’t know – I don’t think so.”

Rafa is very keen to keep his players on track, and we need some wins before the end of the year which will only help Newcastle being sold.

And then the news from the US yesterday was that Almiron’s transfer to Newcastle United could have already been agreed in principle.

This is what Rafa said when asked about the talented Paraguayan International:

“Say again?” “Which one? I can’t hear you properly.” (yes he was smiling)

“You know I don’t like to talk about players.”

“Not now. Now is the time to enjoy a performance like this from this group of players.”

Rafa was naturally delighted with a gutsy and brave performance last night in the 1-1 draw at Everton – the lads were excellent.

If Newcastle can get the two deals over the line (the takeover and the Almiron transfer) – the fans could well be in football heaven.

Let’s all hope it all happens and please – as soon as possible.

Because I have an in with one frIend who has contacts associated with first group but is not part of said group I first knew of , I was informed about another group in the West that they are aware of the others interest and interest from two other groups East of the UK.

The two serious parties from the East of UK one is near and one is far.

Sorry about the cryptisism ..There’s a clue !

Also real interest from an Irish family who are massively into Horse racing , Horse racing and breeding but told Horse racing is not the industry they make their money in . Multi billionaire .

First group are extremely wealthy as is The Middle East family .

So is true about the 4 interested parties.. plus a new one to me re; Irish.

That’s it lads . Iv got nowt else .

After a sudden high, a wave optimism, the media are beginning to pour cold water on the state of play with bids.

Call it pessimism based on Ashley’s track record of lies and deceit, I’m beginning to wonder whether this window’s going to be the same a most others – a bitter disappointment!

My view on the takeover is that it will either happen before the Jan Transfer window or it won’t.

Most takeovers seem to happen out of the blue and seem to complete within a few weeks from when they become public knowledge. So, with that in mind the clock is ticking becuase if it doesn’t happen soon it is definitely not going to happen

About time that’s done with the betting ads. Few years back I used to oversee drug and alcohol treatment, in a meeting with other local commissioners I said give it a few years and will need big treatment services for gambling because of the way the adverts are now, it’s going to be just as bad if not worse as can get a major addiction to it and all hidden where nobody else can see apart from your bank manger

Dean is a shocker, along with Atkinson and Mariner. I remember KK 2nd time round playing Boro and you may as well have had Dean in a Boro top. Will never forget the double leg breaking scissor kick de Jong did on HBA which Atkinson didn’t even give a free kick for.

Great to see that about the betting ads. So sick of 365, betfred, william hill etc etc everywhere you look. My friend is addicted and he’s losing everything but can’t stop gambling. Worse than drugs, booze and fags in some ways and it really gets me with those stupid ”when the fun stops, stop” and ”bet responsibly” taglines. All the talksport lot would be sacked if they spoke up against it though. Vested interests.

Loaning Almiron makes quite good sense at the moment for everyone! As long as it’s got a purchase option agreed!

Let’s us have a look at him to see if he can make the step up

Almiron might not want to commit until Rafa is staying on

If Ashley does suddenly decide not to sell we at least will have a player for the 2nd half of the season

Also if we do have a new owner it might take a while to get everything organised so we might just have to get a few players in just to get us over the line this season

It would be good if the club could just confirm it before the window opens so we can get the work permit sorted and he could be ready to play after January 1st!

unless we are taken over or Ashley calls the sale off, all the signings will be loan with an option to buy. i think we can get two loan players from outside UK. number 10 & a left back i’d say.
