Rafa Nominated For Manager Of The Month – But Only Interested In This

Rafa has been nominated for the November Manager of the Month award after winning all three league games last month.

That was quite phenomenal given that in the previous 10 games we had only managed 3 draws and  3 points.

We haven’t done too well this month picking up only one point from our two games against West Ham and Everton, but it was an excellent point at Goodison Park on Wednesday night.

Newcastle have an excellent opportunity of getting 3 points tomorrow afternoon against Wolves at St. James’ Park although they do have some good players in their team.

Rafa Benitez – Manager of the MOnth nominee

Rafa was asked about the nomination in the Shields Gazette today:

“Being nominated is fine but you have to win, what we would like to win is with the team at the end of the season, that would be more important than just one month.”

“Obviously we won three games, and for us it is more difficult to win three games than for Manchester City or Tottenham, but it still means nothing.”

“It is not giving you points, we need points and we need to be sure that at the end of the year we are fine.”

“But it is good news.”

Pep Guardiola of Manchester City and Mauricio Pochettino of Tottenham are also nominated for Manager of the Month, and they also won their three games last month.

Jail it must be hard to accept that I shook hands with him and he even interrupted a phone call to do it, and a pic with daughter too. He’s a nice guy, just tends to go over defensive at times, but a great guy nonetheless. Still subject to praise and criticism, just like any football manager in the real world Jail. You did notice previously that I said the best thing for us would be for rafa to stay, well funded, and become a DOF eventually, choosing his own successor. Funny, you didn’t mention that did you? Hmm…. Great tactical effort the other night against a team with better players. Oh, there I go praising rafa again.
