Rafa held his press conference early this afternoon, and the manager has talked about the upcoming January transfer window.
He also talked about the massive two games we have coming up next, when we play at Huddersfield Town tomorrow and at home to Fulham the following Saturday.
Both teams are currently in the bottom three positions in the Premier League, so both games are like relegation 6 pointers.
Rafa said he had no news either on the transfer window or the potential takeover.
David Wagner – impressive Huddersfield manager
There are two reports out today in the Star and Express saying Peter Kenyon, backed by Rockefeller Capital Management, is just weeks away from buying Newcastle.
And another less positive report from the Sun saying that Kenyon can only raise £200M and is nowhere near the price of £300M Mike Ashley wants for the club.
Here’s our take on the Star article and then on the Express and Sun articles.
And here’s some of what Rafa has said in his press conference today:
“We don’t talk about players (transfer targets) or the takeover because we have no news.”
“I have seen the names out there, but we have no news.”
“We have identified a lot of names, but we have to decide who to go for. We will go for the first, then work down the list”
“Since the last 2 windows, I don’t think we’ve been favorites against anyone.”
“Am I confident we can beat anyone? Yes – but still we have to work hard to do it”
“Everybody here has been working so hard. Sometimes you are lucky enough to get some points in a row.”
“It’s hard work being rewarded.”
“For us, every game is like a final. We have to approach every game thinking 1 point could make a massive difference.”
“That is why I was so upset against Wolves. It makes it so much more difficult for us when you have these decisions.”
“The next 2 games are massive”
The only thing that really matters at the moment is that we can get back to our winning ways against Huddersfield tomorrow afternoon.

Comment #162With Yedlin and Fernandez out for this game
it could be very easy to unbalance the defence
if Rafa’s not careful.
I think he’ll defo go for experience and play
a 4 – 2 – 3 – 1

I doubt it was coincidence. your phone acts as a tracking and listening device even when switched off, companies can monitor conversations, see what shops and stores you visit . your computer can be accessed through the backdoor , Key words activate responses , If your dog barks ,you may receive offers for pet insurance and companies know how good or bad your financial situation is, this technology has been available for about 15 yrs . It’s not scary , it’s intrusive !
