Alan Shearer Reacts To Great Team Goal And Brilliant Win

It was Alan Shearer taking to Twitter this afternoon immediately after Newcastle produced maybe our best result of the season with a 1-0 away win at Huddersfield Town this afternoon.

That put us 6 points above the Terriers in the league table and into 14th place and 16 points – one more than we had at this time last year after 16 games played.

It was a well-worked goal by Newcastle and it was that man Salomon Rondon who hit the ball into the back of the net with his left foot after a perfect ball into the box from Javier Manquillo.

No wonder Alan Shearer is smiling

    ‘Cause we got no cash
    And we’re barely surprised
    Not the first time
    That Mike Ashley lied

So we searched & we searched
For a deal that would work
    To improve our Newcastle side

    So Rafa brought in Rondon
Did a deal with West Brom
    Get yourself a goal son…

Rondon!!! You beauty!! Looks a much better swap now with Gayle. 🙂 Happy times. Although Rafa’s compact playing style again boring. But whos to complain.

With the current squad, we’re probably the 11th or 12th best team in the league. We’re better than teams like Huddersfield, Burnley, Cardiff, Brighton, Bournemouth, Soton etc. Will be a better league next season when the below par teams go down.

Kets – you didn’t finish it. You should have added and three more below par teams from the Championship come up. Nothing has changed for the past 7/8 years at least. The Top 6 are getting stronger and the remaining 14 weaker year on , year on, – Fact of life I’m afraid.

Jib , Iv never checked ..Was the lino a local lino ?

By my reckoning up to date we have been robbed of eleven points through bad refereeing decisions.

Var will be good for Newcastle United .. all those seasons of so called big club bias will melt away next season.

    Fair play at last

Did you actually watch the game Online Guy because in the game I watched he won one tackle and that was a a foul. His passing was atrocious and he just strolled around as if he was not interested. Can’t believe it as in later part of last season his workrate was phenomenal and he was one of the reasons we actually finished where we did. I always give praise where it’s warranted but Diame & Kennedy were very poor today. Atsu , Perez & Dubravka were the star men today

The conspiracies can spiral out of control
Paradoxically it was Perez who unsighted
the official for the Hud defender that played
    him onside.
    file under

It’s not for his creative talent ..he done a decent Job..was in everyone’s face ..Huddersfield would describe him as a nuisance..he got his body in the way and his foot in when it mattered ..have another watch . Worked hard.

If the lino couldn’t see it because he was unsighted then he’s made a wrong call . Guess work .

Yes sometimes happens ..agreed . It means of course that we are penalised once again through officials getting it totally wrong.

    Unsighted ? Mmmm

Perez looks to be doing the same as last season and finding abit of form before Crimbo heading into the 2nd half of the season. Fair play to the lad for his improved efforts in recent weeks after a terrible start.

An ugly game of football but ultimately a very good win. Huddersfield have some good players but they have absolutely no threat going forward and for me they are certain to go down for that reason.

I saw some Huddersfield fans before the game saying ‘Rondon is awful etc etc and predicting an easy enough win for them’…..The egg on their faces is now real.

    Rondon does it again!!

So are you defending the Lino who made the mistake? You can’t “unsight” a linesman from 30 yards; he’s incompetent he should have seen the Hudds player before Perez moved forward! That could’ve cost us today and we should have had a penalty last week (and Wolves player sent off)! Correction; shit happens a lot to us!

Kenedy was very poor today again. I dunno what’s happened to him as thanks to his play last season we survived. He looks nothing lime the player we had last season. Dubravka on the other hand goes from strength to strength and another great save today to keep us in it.

Diame was poor again, but Atsu i felt did okay and is slowly growing in confidence.

Perez worked his socks off and was unlucky to have a perfectly good goal written off.

Rondon a beast again today, tireless worked that took his goal well.

The defense held solidly for the win today though we did ride our luck a few times again.

All in all a great result from a very poor performance but some solid defending. We really need to cut our punts forward and hild onto the ball, if we’d do that I bet we will win matches much more comfortably.

Massive 3 points and I am happy even if it was hard to watch.

Now let’s get that takeover sorted ASAP to finally wake this sleeping giant!!

Imagine how we would be feeling if Huddersfield had equalised.. done out of a perfectly good goal by a linesman from Middlesbrough, anyway it’s 3 points and my take is that we are a better team than the majority of football fans around the country think .. it’s getting a bit monotonous Rondon scoring almost every game !

    Onwards and upwards.
