Merry Xmas to everybody who reads this article today – Christmas day.
==========
Dwight Gayle scored a hat-trick for West Brom in their 4-0 win at Rotherham on Saturday.
That brought Dwight’s goals tally to 13 in 20 league games since he left St James’s Park in the summer on loan.
Salomon Rondon cams the other way on loan and has scored 5 goals for Newcastle so far this season.
It’s not known whether Rafa wants Dwight back in the summer but he could be in a permanent swap deal for Rondon.
Dwight Gayle – loving it on loan at West Brom
This is what Gayle has said as reported in the Shields Gazette today:
“I don’t know really, it could be on the cards,”
“For me the most important thing is getting promoted this season and finishing in the top two.”
“We all know what we’ve got to do and we’ve got a lot of hard work before the end of the season to do that. “
“I’m loving it here at the moment and hopefully, that continues.”
Dwight has proved more than once he can score lots of goals in the Championship and he scored 23 goals for us in just 32 league goals two years ago – a fantastic effort by the former Crystal Palace striker.
West Brom are third in the league and five points behind second-placed Norwich City and automatic promotion.
West Brom’ impressive manager Darren Moore wants to concentrate on the football and he’s said this about the situation:
“We’ve not even spoken about that,”
“We’ve got him here. It’s a swap deal with Rondon going the other way.”
“All we’re doing is focusing on the football.”
There ‘s a possibility there could be a permanent deal done between the clubs for Gayle and Rondon in January.
That would free up one spot for Rafa to bring in another loan player from an English club but that seems unlikely.
If West Brom are promoted in May it’s more likely that a swap deal is done between Dwight Gayle and Salomon Rondon in the summer – although manager Benitez rates the striker.
What do you think?

Gayle has done well, bagged a load for us in the Championship and had it not been for injury would of bagged a lot more.
It’s a win win, if sold we will get a good price or if he comes back we will have a striker full of confidence.
Just hope he doesn’t come back to play in Championship next season.
We will be alright I am sure.
Enjoy your day all !

Comment #4How many times have you seen a swap deal actually take place?
I recon Ashley will want a fee for Gayle and stick with Rondon on loan for the rest of the season which means he doesn’t have to get another loan deal in.
Anyway, Merry Christmas everyone ?
