Newcastle Reported In Negotiations For 20-Year-Old Juventus Defender

Newcastle have been linked for the first time with 20-year-old Juventus left-back Rogerio – full name – Rogerio Oliveira da Silva.

He started his career at Internacional in Brazil before signing on at Juventus back in 2016.

Rogerio has played for both the Brazil U17 side and the Brazil U20 side, and he is currently on a two-year loan at Sassuolo, which has half a season to run.

Gazzetta dello Sport are reporting that Newcastle United are interested in signing the player who has played 19 times for Sassuolo this season and 32 times in total.

According to the report, there are three Premier League clubs are interested in bringing him to England this month.

The other two PL clubs are identified as being Wolves and Arsenal.

The Italian powerhouse are open to selling the Brazilian at the right price this month, and the report states that a transfer to England is ‘maturing.’

That would suggest the two clubs most interested are talking to Juventus officials about a possible permanent deal.

Newcastle and Wolves are those two clubs.

Rafa wants to bring in an attacking left back to offer cover and competition for local lad Paul Dummett.

With Newcastle again short of transfer funds Rafa could want a loan deal with an option to buy in the summer.

My only worry with us being constantly linked with young players like this is Benitez going to play them ?

    Carr’s keeping himself busy then?

As well as wanting Almiron, Rafa wants to bring in experience to save the club that Ashley owns, but no, Ashley seems u willing to back Rada – again.

Experience is one side of the coin, but talent is the other.

We can’t afford both talent and experience. We actually have a great deal of Prem experience in the squad, so anything we can do to raise the talent levels will only help.

Have I changed my mind on Almiron? Not really, I’m still unsure of his physical strength, but if he or any other players come I’ll welcome them with open arms as we are just desperate for reinforcements.

I say can’t afford, when what I really mean is we refuse to pay the required money for.

“Experience is one side of the coin, but talent is the other”

Lee Charnley, Bunga Party: Good point,! Liverpool played a 16 year old Dutch defender in their Cup defeat the other day and the Lad gave a good account of himself . They lost but it was already 1-2 when he csme on ! Its no point getting young players in if you are not planning to play them at some stage ! Saying that i find it typical that Sorrensen signs a new contract and is immediatley on the Injured list ! I don,t believe Fat Ash is gonna sign anyone in January? It will all be last minute panic again ! Plus Benitez will be gone when his contract ends? And i would,nt blame him, West Ham, Everton or a club in China i think ! A Club where they don,t muck around with Transfers like we do !!!!
