Newcastle Linked with Former German U21 Striker

The Chronicle are reporting that Newcastle have an interest in signing Borussia Dortmund forward Maximilian Philipp.

But the striker has played only about 20 minutes since last October and his agent is saying he needs game time; well – that seems true enough.

The striker is reported to be available for around £19M, but Rafa would surely want to take a look at him before spending that amount of money.

Newcastle will try to get the 24-year-old German U21 International on loan for the rest of the season with an option to buy.

That would be a decent deal for Newcastle – if we can do it.

24-year-old Borussia Dortmund forward Maximilian Philipp

It’s not known if Dortmund would be open to a deal like that since they have made him available for a permanent move.

Hannover and Besiktas have also been linked with an interest in the player.

Philipp was born in Berlin and stands 6ft tall.

The attacking midfielder signed a five-year contract with Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2017 from SC Freiburg for a fee reported to be about €20M (£17.8) plus bonuses.

He has played 43 times for Dortmund with 11 goals and 7 assists and this season he’s played 15 games in all competitions with 2 goals and 2 assists.

He started his career at his hometown club, Hertha BS and in 2008 he joined Tennis Borussia Berlin.

In 2012, he signed with SC Freiburg and while there for five years he scored 18 goals and had 23 assists in 88 total appearances for them.

If the lad is fit and we can keep him fit it would seem  a reasonable deal on loan for the rest of the season and if he’s good enough we can sign him in the summer.

What do you think?

Forget about team talk and injuries etc, concentrate your energies into getting the Fat Parasite Dictator out of our club! He needs to be gone and 52,000+ of us have it in our power to do something about it.

How many more years do we have to listen to the lies and bullshit? We’re into the 12th year of his regime FFS!

No signings, no takeover, just PR bullshit coming from his ar@e lickers!

    No investment in bleedin anything!

Where has the £125M Sky money gone? Where will the next £125M+payment go? In the fat man’s pocket, that’s where!

Mighty Brighton have a brand new £35M training complex where as what we have is only suitable for a League One side or lower. Our training facilities are an absolute disgrace for a team in the English Prem!

That crowd funding false News in the Sun is absolute lies ..don’t even think about it .
The money was proved to Ashley well over a month ago and I have had it said to me directly that he would not even start up a conversation on the sale unless that money was shown upfront , and it was . I was told it was .

Iv got a transcript of the conversation .

Mike Ashley also said takeovers don’t happen in public eye and criticised staveley for it last year.

He then releases this current takeover situation in the public eye himself.

Many years ago, he used to ask any interested parties to buy a box at the ground if they’re genuine about buying the club.

Now it’s reportedly a case of needing ‘proof of funds’, whatever that is or how that can be proven.

Moral of the story, don’t believe anything Mike Ashley. Even cobras call him a snake.

One thing we need to remember

Ashley saying any buyer will need to show funds in the first instance of bieng able to take Newcastle United further and assure ongoing funds to be able to do that .

He would not have entertained Kenyon and called him best fit if that was not in place going forward..think about it.

The Sun causing false debate .

As if Ashley gives a crap about Newcastle going forward. As long as he gets his asking price he’s out.

Unless he wants to transfer this interest free loan that’s been paid off 10 times The amount over to any potential suitors. A deed as disgusting as that would not be a step too far

I’m certain that all the Chinese whispers, fake news and soundbites from various insiders is all frantic guesswork in an attempt to be the one with the scoop. For all we know a deal completely not as expected may come out of this. Entertainment any possibility. But if we haven’t signed anyone and all goes quiet in Feb then it’s not going to be our year. Again.

I think it’s already been mentioned but it looks like the old favourites to link us with, the Bas Dosts, Charlie Austin’s, Andros Townsend’s and Andy Carroll’s are now deemed far too outlandishly expensive for us and now the failed strikers, middling park plodders and loan-able hobbled crocks are our fare. Sad indictment of modern Ashley existence eh?

Yeah, have to agree with that.
I’ll add one more thing. He never says anything to us. The supporters.
We kept going when we were relegated 2nd time. Near 50,000 at games. Graced the Championship. Many teams came to SJP and it was the high light of their season.
Ashley, at that time was vulnerable. Why ? No Prem TV money. We all thought we had one last chance to get back up, get the revenue of TV money and be self sufficient.
However, all it has done is give Ashley an opportunity.
2 years Sky money at least followed by parachute payments.
It will all go to him minus the very minimum he has to pay in wages.

I think signing anyone in this window that isn’t ready to be thrown straight into the deep end would be a total waste of time to be honest. No doubt this guy would need time to adapt to the league and pace of the game, all the usual jargon. You can see how it will probably pan out.
