Rafa Refuses To Talk About Transfers, Players, Takeover And His Own Future – Says Situation Is Not Ideal

Rafa has refused to get drawn on just about everything in his press conference today and wanted to just concentrate on the next game – which is at Stamford Bridge tomorrow afternoon.

He has refused to talk about transfer, the takeover and even his own future becasue he says it’s just a waste of energy.

He could be right there – there doesn’t seem much he can do about things.

Rafa Benitez – situation is not ideal

So Rafa is tight-lipped in this transfer window.

But the manager has to be disappointed that after 11 days we don’t even seem close to bringing in our first player during this vital January transfer window.

This is a down-to-earth Rafa talking in his press conference today:

“I will not talk about the transfer window, I will not talk about names and I will not talk about the takeover.”

“We are wasting energy on these things, but we need to focus on the game.”

“I could say it’s a difficult window like other managers, but I prefer not to”

“I don’t want to talk about players, I don’t want to talk about takeovers, and I don’t want to talk about me. “

“I just want to talk about these players and our games”

We have what we have, and we are where we are.”

“We cannot analyze individual substitutions, decisions and everything all the time.”

“If we do not have enough, we’ll try to do something more.”

“No it’s not an ideal situation but the majority of fans understand the situation.”

We’ll look forward to watching this press conference on nufcTV later today to see how Rafa looks and what his body language is.

But he may well be giving up on being able to build a top team at Newcastle United if Mike Ashley is still the owner this summer.

We hope that’s not true.

Certainly doesn’t look like there is developments on a takeover or transfer news that are just being kept under wraps.

It is just another January under the fat pathological liar.

If this was any other manager, they would have walked. Fair play to Rafa for sticking around. He has once again been let down by a greedy owner who doesn’t care about the club.

Rafa is and will be the best manager that the club will see under the current owner and is the only thing that is keeping things together but come the summer it looks we’ll be saying goodbye to him.

I won’t talk about the only things fans want to here
He’s turned into a sniviling Ashley puppet
    But 11 days gone
    No takeover
    No transfers
    All going to plan

He’s looked and sounded like a beaten man just seeing out his notice these last few weeks.

I am concerned where Ashley will go for the next manager when Rafa inevitably goes in the summer. I can’t blame him for going, 3 years under Ashley would make anyone need a break.

With people like Moyes and Hughes out there, we could easily end up with one of those.

I’m taking it there’s absolutely nothing to talk about in regards of incoming players and takeovers so he can’t really be arsed with that line of questioning.

@ Hibbit no offence taken mate. I agree and would not trust Ashley at all.

    Lesh. Totally agree.

The reason for my post was- if there was no other option. Find it hard to understand why there is no interest in the club unless Ashley wants to keep the merchandising and advertising his brand. If so what is he selling.

A stadium (not the land it stands on)

    Players- championship side at best.

Training ground – leased. Also run down.

Any land attached to the club. Sold by Ashley or held in Mash holdings.

Manager – he will be gone at end of season.

Potential – advertising, merchandising ( this will be held by Ashley)

Good will – there isn’t any.

    Debt – 140m

Liame Gibson joining Barlazer on loan at Accrington for rest of season, be no big surprise if they get sold to them.

At least they’ll get 1st team games!!

Fully agree with Belfast@5…………Every day that passes by now means a bigger sinking feeling for everyone involved in and around this once proud club.
As we all know one man is responsible for causing misery for many thousands of people. Closely followed by two other men Online Guy and Ayoze Perez and thirdly to a lesser degree Jesperfuglslang.

I’m guessing you’re not in the selling business. Kidding, good post 🙂

So when are we going to see the new NUFC team, like that year when we signed a bunch of people in January?

Maybe we aren’t going to see it, but we definitely need new blood. The current lot are clearly trying, but that’s not enough. That slogan was never true. We want our teams to have a right go. And to win, lose and draw in equal measure.

On the game, hard fought draw.

As a belated reply to someone re. Saivet, yes I believe he is still on loan and could probably be recalled, a player worth another chance imo.

Rafa has called for unity …now some people might think this to back the team and get on board with everything that’s going on regardless of the negativity …but I think reading between the lines and how Rafa is sonpoker face … It might actually mean to become one solid unit and get mike Ashley out ….. Regardless of the demonstrations and groups and sports direct protests ml the stadium is almost full capacity week in week out …

First and foremost if a change is to come about and be lead by the supporters then we as supporters first and foremost need to raise the question to our fellow supporters who turn up in their thousands as to how can they spend their hard earned money on something that provides ‘0’ returns of investment ..???? …. As long as the stadium is packed you can create and demonstrate all you like and bitch about it but it will not even change 1 square inch of Newcastle ….

So to fellow supporters who turn up …you are the ones that really are the backbone of this corrupt regime ….yes you …not Ashley ….but you
