There are various comments from Newcastle fans this morning and most of them are against Rio Ferdinand who had a severe attack of incompetence yesterday.
He said Newcastle fans should be thanking Mike Ashley for what he has done for the club.
Pull the other leg – it’s got bells on.
That will do Rio no good as a sane correspondent and it’s not the first time he has backed Mike Ashley over the Newcastle fans.
The comments are not particularly positive today but we did play well yesterday against a top side,.
WEe need to do that against the clubs around us in the league table and get a few wins together.
But this time around it could be more difficult than last season – especially if Rafa is not supported by Ashley this month.

Rio Ferdinand’s comments on #NUFC and Ashley are staggeringly blinkered, to the point you wonder whether there actually are alternative reasons for taking such a stance, or if he’s simply not very bright. Nice to see Jake Humphreys pulling him up on the nonsense though.

@rioferdy5 Get your facts correct before you spout absolute nonsense. Your a disgrace #nufc
— michael willis (@mickwillis23) January 13, 2019
Every Newcastle fan knows we are poor: Rafas tactics are born out of the limitations of the squad. The entire starting 11 yesterday cost us less than Chelsea’s GK 7 of our 11 were in our Championship squad and 1 is still an u23 regular making is first PL start. #nufc
— M H-J (@Hope541) January 13, 2019
Wonder how much @rioferdy5 got paid by @kba_sport for his PR work last night on @btsportfootball ? Absolutely disgraceful. What a creep! #NUFC #ASHLEYOUT
— ????H8YL3Y???? (@Hayley_Harra) January 13, 2019
All this chat about Newcastle fans expecting this or that…is it not fair to say we at least expect to be in a similar position to when Ashley took over (regular top half)? The fact we are not shows his utter incompetence. #NUFC @IfRafaGoesWeGo
— philtulip (@philtulip) January 13, 2019
Rio Ferdinand. His utter contempt for Newcastle fans is quite astonishing. Aligned with Mike Ashley with his business deals mean us #NUFC fans now need to worship. @btsport – whatever you’re paying him, it’s too much.
— Glen (@GlenLegend) January 13, 2019
He’s gone at the end of this season and I for one don’t blame him one bit! #nufc
— Raymond Matthew Anderson. (@celticlad19533) January 13, 2019
Have to say Sean Longstaff impressed me yesterday, a mature performance from the young lad in a tough game. His distribution was superb, he has a bright future ahead of him. #NUFC
— Graeme Bell (@GraemeBell_NUFC) January 13, 2019
Bang on! But I find it fascinating that so many people from the media and football world are so concerned and interested in a ‘small town’ club like #NUFC who are ‘only a yo-yo club’ ?
— Harrisonaphotos (@harrisonaphotos) January 13, 2019
You can’t complete the takeover of a club in 2 weeks. Therefore, it would make no difference to transfers if it happened in the summer. It also gives investors time to see if we avoid relegation. No hope. The depressing season continues. #CancelAfterCardiff #nufc
— Neil (@IAmNeilMarshall) January 13, 2019
Also with the 6 million clause now being void lets hope he walks away . #nufc

IMO Kenyon needs to issue a press statement saying that he will return with a bid in the summer, in order to clarify the situation for the benefit of the fans and not prolong a transfer embargo any further. This would immediately sky rocket his reputation in the NE.

Comment #3“Fulham’s vice-chairman, Tony Khan, told a fan to “go to hell” in a tweet after Saturday’s 2-1 defeat by Burnley left the promoted club mired in the relegation zone.
“Khan took to Twitter in an attempt to ease Fulham fans’ concerns, promising “multiple signings to improve the squad” in the January transfer window.”

Comment #4Rio Ferdinand is a complete berm. This is a bloke who was suspended from football because he failed to provide a sample for a drugs test because he forgot.
He is either a liar or an idiot. Either way the prick shouldn’t be given any air time.

Most folk who are in the public eye and have a few bob
employ people to interact on social media on their behalf
not as shills as the green freak thinks but merely for time
saving as some have thousands of followers.

Comment #10Yeah my initial thought when Ashley said a sale was close in December was I’d this all a ploy so he doesn’t after spend again in Januaruy. Like so many others I thought surely he wouldn’t do the exact same trick as last year, but unfortunately it’s looking exactly the case.
He has to save all his money get past the gap of January at which point I think he will come out with the nonsense of either they didn’t have the money or they was not right for taking the club forward. Then he is laughing all the way to the summer where all the TV Money ect goes right in his pocket again.

Comment #12Well done to the lads yesterday, Longstaff deserves a place on the 1st team against Cardiff his passing was superb and similar to Shelvey and against the mighty Chelsea he stood his own ground.
BUT for some reason we tend to play good against the good team and shite against the weaker team, Southampton starting to pick up points and Cardiff is a must win, no exception!
If we don’t get those 3 points against Cardiff probably Mike would cancel his Rafa contract, maybe?
I’m a big fan of Rafa but not his tactics and we should play like we did yesterday at every game but we won’t!

Comment #14We’re stuck in a cycle where we can raise our game against the top sides – but still lose. Then struggle against the sides around us and not win. Recipe for relegation as we all feel after performances against the former, we’ll be fine and Ashley will be sat there thinking the same thing and boom suddenly we’ll be gone.

Comment #18Is it a coincidence that we went in to a slump of form last year when the take over news emerged, we seem to have gone in to another one with Ashley’s instigated fake over this time, was he jealous we were pulling out of a hole, he wants his relegation thrill at our expense.

Comment #19I think Rafa has probably already talked with Christian Purslow
who was at LPool when Benitez left and is now CEO at Aston Villa
Villa are owned jointly (45/55 split) by
Chinese businessman Tony Xia and
Egyptian businessman Nassef Sawiris
both billionaires.
Dean Smith has the look of temporary appointment and
is doing a reasonable job of keeping Villa mid table in the
Championship.
AV are just as much a sleeping giant as NUFC and with
Villa Park only 90+ miles of motorway driving from West Kirby
would be a no brainer for Rafa

Comment #22Against the lesser teams Rafa needs to abandon 5 at the back
Unnecessarily negative and overly defensive
Such tactics cost us 2 points vs Fulham who were there for the taking
We have such good centre backs we don’t need to play 3 at the same time
4-4-2 . Atsu and Kenedy on the wings . Shelvey and DIamee in midfield
That would do the business against Cardiff
Rafa STOP Being so defensive

Comment #27Yedlin is probably responsible for 50% or more of all goals we concede. A positional nightmare and awful decision maker. Very basic rule of coaching is don’t show William inside, but that’s just one example of so many yedlin has been at fault for.

Well said @rioferdy5 ??. If Rafa loves Newcastle as he says – spend some of his own money. He’s got enough. Management is about teamwork – why should it always be Ashley? Buy it. It’s still for sale. They’re in the bottom 3 & Rafa is responsible. He picks the team.
