Newcastle Fans Upset At Report – Rafa At Breaking Point With Ashley Over Transfers

There’s an exclusive report by Luke Edwards in the Telegraph today that if Rafa doesn’t get some players brought in during this January transfer window (it’s quickly running out) he will walk away from Newcastle when his contract runs out at the end of June.

That shouldn’t come as a surprise to Newcastle fans – we are surprised he’s lasted this long the way Mike Ashley has refused to spend the club’s money on players since Rafa joined us almost three years ago.

It doesn’t say that Luke Edwards reporting is accurate and maybe Rafa is using this ploy to press Ashley to buy.

But Rafa is also a man of his word so if it is true and Ashley still refuses to sign some loan players in the next 9 days, then it doesn’t look good as far as Rafa remaining as the Newcastle manager in the summer.

Mike Ashley somehow managed to get a world-class manager to Newcastle who has great ambitions for the sleeping giant called Newcastle United and then he has basically forced him out with his miserly way of running a football club.

Mike Ashley at the 3-0 home win against Cardiff last Saturday

Ashley doesn’t want to spend money on good players so Rafa can build a top team – shame on him.

Rafa should leave Newcastle for his own good in the summer if Mike Ashley is still the Newcastle owner by then – which seems almost certain.

A takeover of the club also looks as far away as ever.

Here are some typical tweets about the rather depressing situation.

Elliot and Lazaar have been pretty much told to go, take them out the squad, their not wanted and won’t play.

It’s not difficult and isn’t stopping transfers, you have to want to make transfers for them to happen.

We find problems where there aren’t any, we turn mole hills into mountains!

Apparently Donald Trump wants our line because it’s more difficult to get over than any wall!

I don’t believe any poster on this blog works for KBA. If they DO then they are doing a crappy ass job of influencing opinion on the fat greedy bastid. Think the opinion of Ashley has steadily eroded since the blog was started until it must be something like 99.99% totally hate the cretin! And the other 0.01 percent merely dislike him! 😉

Walk away with ya head held high Rafa. You should feel proud in what you have achieved and the miracles you have performed.
Like Rafa the whole Nufc Family has been duped yet again ,And only the short sighted are failing to see this.
We are a mess from top to bottom,The failings are there for all to see now as yet another transfer window goes by with as yet no incomings

I just wonder if Southern Journalists are having a bit of
    fun at our expense
The spurious report of D Wise’ return to SJP by Matt Hughes in
the Times had Newcastle social media in meltdown a few days ago

I know for a fact that Luke Edwards hasn’t been near Tyneside
for days and he quotes the old favourite “sources close”

To add to the confusion he was one of several journos saying
Rafa will be meeting Ashley at Benton

one day the worm will turn and he’ll be gone and that day is getting closer and closer

    I don’t bother with Twitter
There’s enough people there who ain’t havin the lies

I get the feeling there’s a game of chicken going on between Rafa and MA . Both want what the other won’t give

It’s the only positive thing I can imagine

That and the fact no matter how clever MA and his goons/accounts think they are greed will always get you in the brown stuff

And MA has plenty of greed

I expect it to pan out as I’ve said, Rafa probably wants to walk as much as we want Ashley to do it. I think Rafa would see walking as a betrayal to the fans and his players, he couldn’t forgive himself.

Everyone knows he sees the potential and wants to build here he won’t want to be part of it going down.

Then the shit hits the fan and it’s game on, at long last, once more into the breach!

What I read was that the clause for another club to take him (also £6 million) ended. The clause of £6 million for him to just walk away is active until the end of his contract.

Therefore Rafa pays £6 million to leave but if a club wants to take him there is no “release clause”, they need to negotiate a fee with NUFC.

Either way, he has a contract which will cost him some money to break early. I can’t see any reason why he’d want to pay the club money to leave, especially given that I imagine there will be bonuses involved for keeping us in the league.

I don’t think MA could come out of this looking any bigger an idiot/fool if he tried

The sale lies descended into an embarrassing mess nobody believes
Rafa is now looking like the person wronged and has acted with utter professionalism

MA is looking like he couldn’t run tuck shop

This so called stalemate between rafa and tub of goo, rafa wont sign unless goo buys players and goo wont buy players unless rafa signs first….does anyone actually believe this to be the case? …i just dont think goo wants to pay rafa anymore,so he’s quite willing to look a greedy, awkward, shite hawk till rafa leaves otherwise you would think there would be some kind of compromise between the 2 if they were amicable for everyone’s best interests, the club, the manager and even goo would get some brownie points for making the effort….could be wrong like!Lol

Well there’s another failed business Ashley can buy.

    Lads , Lasses,

I think Iv worked out what’s going on with the Toon22 .

Tynemouth and me have discussed the possibilities of “IT” bieng a computer prog/frog ..get it ?

    But…but … Here’s what it is ..

There are differing patterns in the posts ..no punctuation at all ..and then later …punctuation.

It can only mean different people, different writing styles possibly 4 different people sticking to the experiment and correlating the results at end of term and excercise .

What’s happening is this blog and the people who read and contribute are subjects of a social media experiment by a small group of 1st or 2nd year students in Media studies or possibly Psychology , or a subject pertaining to interaction, cause and effect.

Think of the hours Toon22 puts in ! almost 24/7, there’s only about 3 hours in 24 it does not post
They are working shifts , a rota , time alloted..

We are part of a social experiment by Possibly Sund*rland university (Polytechnic..) studentstudent and more likely media.

    I doubt it’s Newcastle University .

    Anyway just a thought.

    Rumbled ?

Yeah it was me that mentioned about Rafa and Spurs for a budget of course they could look for a younger coach!

Spurs are actually in a tricky situation if Pochettino leaves to go Man Utd or Madrid for glory or trophies several of their best players could also be looking to leave !

They got quite lucky with Kane and Alli in terms of getting them for cheap and developing them but they might not be challenging the top four if those two and Eriksen left!

What makes anyone think that Ashley is even remotely concerned with the prospect of Rafa resigning when his contract is up as we believe in June.

If we’ve stayed up then the only thing that Ashley will do is appoint a young manager on a pittance of a salary compared to Rafa and think that he’s been clever by saving on the wage bill.

If we’ve been relegated and Rafa’s gone then expect to see the same rubbing of hands with glee at saving even more cost in appointing the great Steve Bruce as Manager, taking the parachute payments and still seeing Sports Direct signage on TV bearing in mind that NUFC were the most covered Championship club on TV last time round.

Me, I’m saving up for a vest Jeune and as someone suggested we should follow the example of the Jarrow March and march on Shirebrook to free the zero hours workers and set up a peace camp that would make Greenham Common seem like a tea party.
