Shearer Slams Newcastle’s Pathetic Display

Alan Shearer was not too impressed by Newcastle’s display this afternoon against Watford in the FA Cup – we lost 2-0 at home.

We were very poor this afternoon and we will need our best team out against Manchester City on Tuesday night and if we play anywhere near this level we’ll be hammered.

I wouldn’t call the fans going to todays game mugs because a run in fa cup should be supported. However fans going to lge games from now on are 100 percent mugs. This season is over. Why stay in lge and never progress. Relegation is for the best. Should stay away. It’s not like nufc have done too well at home while being supported have they so don’t know what difference staying away will make.

Rafa picked the team and we played his style of football, say no more.

Magscar – literally anyone or anything in place of joselu. I’m sure one of the wheelie bins half full of cold water could have subbed him today.

Unfortunately saying Rafa could have put rondom on just doesn’t pan out – the FA Cup is not a tin pot competition at all it’s just way beyond our reach to even stay in the league never mind compete in two competitions at once. You can’t use players you can’t spare. The FA cup is great but unattainable for us right now, the league means millions of pounds and survival is feasible. I know which one Ashley wants.

Giving up supporting this club until Ashley is gone. There’s literally no point and the emotional energy can be better spent elsewhere. Haven’t got the time for it.

I hope Rondon doesn’t play against City or Spurs, it would terrible if he got injured. Better train alone as well in case he gets an injury from a challenge in training….. he should only play against the teams around us just to make sure he stays fit.

Yeah, we aren’t likely to win the cup, but would it really impact on our attempt to stay up? We’d maybe play one more game, maybe 2 – 4 at most I think? Is that too much for well paid professional athletes?

A win today and the mood would be more upbeat having won 3 games on the bounce and could give us a bit of momentum going into the next few games.

We need reinforcements, our squad isn’t strong, but we don’t play in a way that looks like we want to do anything. The subs were bizarre today, they summed up the lack of desire from top to bottom within the club. Kennedy – I’m sure people complained we didn’t sign him for £20million like Rafa wanted last summer – should have been hooked, he has been so poor.

Less than 2 points from City and Spurs would make the choice to field a weakened team look even more pointless than it does already.

The whole club is rotten, from top to bottom.

Tsunki is so wrong and everyone else who call fa cup distraction. Europe and league cups are distractions BECAUSE they get played mid week!!! Fa cup games are played INSTEAD of league games on weekends so ideally players get a full week rest anyways and don’t have to play 3 games a week. This week is an exception as Man city game is midweek however that midweek game should be a write off as its a game we always lose no matter what. so weak team vs man city and strong team vs watford is the most logical choice but not by world class rafa benitez pardew in disguise. PLUS the big teams rest players as they play europe and they have international players. Our players are not really in europe or international class so dont need resting

Sorry but looking at the team that was picked today, wtf did we expect. For me it’s a double edge sword, I wanted a cup run because the fans have nothing else, but then I think how much money does that generate for MA if we did go further.

Honestly I don’t think Rafa wanted a cup run, for me the Prem is important but I’m also ok if we get relegated as it would hurt Fat Fcuker in the pocket.

Club is dead, let’s jist face facts.

Rafa should be sacked. The performances are abysmal regardless of the lack of investment. The same team was 10th last year and we have a better striker.
There is no entertainment here. Just a grind.

I reckon Rafa is in Ashleys back pocket. 6 million a year to play like that and then defend it.
Rafa may be here longer than we think.

Ask yourselves why Ashley has not sacked him.
Ask yourselves more alarmingly why the manager has not walked.

Perhaps I should recant – some of the posters during matches do need a bit of corrrection – only joking.

2 reasons I don’t read while game is on

    – Even when at games i get distracted if seats next to me keep on chattering at me – have to concentrate even if crap

    – most posters exhibit total lack of self control and awareness of why we are as we are.

On Rondon I get that he could be hurt in training or in PL but surely given the likelihood that he will be our only striker worthy of the name as the window draws shut it is just not worth risking him uneccesarily in FA cup

I am still a bad loser after all these years even if i can understand why we did today so can’t bear to read more for now – back to the music for the evening and definately no MOTD (yet again!)

    Munster,
He wouldn’t be given the money that he wasted on the wrong Murphy, if he had of been ‘given’ the money that was wasted on the ‘wrong’ Murphy he would have bought Townsend in the Championship and the ‘wrong’ Murphy wouldn’t have been bought for sell on value, would he?

Ask yourselves why the Toon manager with the worst home record EVER is still employed.
Is it because he is world class?
Or is it because he suits a purpose of the owner?

Is it normal at a club, especially a club that is apparently the 19th richest in the world to own outright one centre forward, a centre forward who cost 5M pounds in an age where bang average CF’s like Troy Deeney are being valued at 20M and a one season wonder (so far) Callum Wilson is being quoted at 75M

I know the object of the exercise this season is to just survive in the PL yet again, but I really thought Rafa had sniffed a small opportunity to progress in the cup and was going to defy club policy and give it a go.
Absolutely abysmal performance all round with no quality or desire.

We should be signing Brahimi for £5m. That’s a bargain.

I would like us to sign:

    Brahimi – £5m
    Almiron – £20m
    Tagliafico – £7m
    Sturridge – Loan
    Alan Hutton – £2m
    Another left back

    Sell:

    Clark – £9m
    Hayden – £8m
    Dummett – £8m
    Joselu – £6m
    Elliot – £5m
    Woodman – £3m

    = net – -£7m
