Our hope that Newcastle will have Diame, Shelvey, and Dummett for the game tomorrow night against Manchester City will not happen.
And of course Ki returned from the Asian Cup with a hamstring injury, and he will be out for a couple of weeks.
In addition, Isaac Hayden wants to leave the club this week, and he’s said there are few clubs lined up and wanting to sign him.
We would be surprised, given the injuries Newcastle have at the moment and Hayden playing regularly in the first team, if he will be allowed to leave the club in this window.
Mo Diame – probably not available for tomorrow night
Diame, in particular, has been out since the January 2nd when he was injured in the home game against Manchester United that we lost 2-0.
Rafa has said this about the injury situation for tomorrow night:
“We have to be lucky if we have Diame,”
Hopefully, Dummett and Shelvey can return to the squad for tomorrow’s game, but that’s not been verified yet by the manager.
The next two games are tough at home to City and at Wembley against Tottenham on Saturday.
Two defeats could see us back in the drop zone.
We are hoping we can take something out of these two games, but Newcastle have lost all previous eight games against the top six sides this season.
Here the next six games coming up:
Tue 29 Jan Newcastle vs Man City 8:00pm
Sat 2 Feb Tottenham vs Newcastle 5:30pm
Mon 11 Feb Wolves vs Newcastle 8:00pm
Sat 23 Feb Newcastle vs Huddersfield 3:00pm
Wed 27 Feb Newcastle vs Burnley 8:00pm
Comments welcome.

We will never get a better chance of getting a result against Spurs with their injury list !
Burnley and Huddersfield at home are must wins!
We more than matched Wolves at home and should have got a result against them so be interesting to see if we can get at least a draw !
City though could be an embarrassing watch tomorrow we can keep it tight but eventually they wear you down

I actually posted on Saturday first half that it was
looking as if Kenedy had got his mojo back
Second half it all went tits up – you have me thinking
now , maybe his thoughts were ‘what’s the point of trying
with all these plugs around me’

Comment #3A mate of mine (a Sheff Utd fan) suggested a ‘shoes off’ protest like they did…that be done inside the stadium, would certainly be different and catch the media attention!!

Comment #4Just catching up with the blog – there were quite a few rajee’s over the weekend!
The thing I don’t agree with is castigating people who pass on stuff they’ve heard about the takeover such as OLG. To me it’s half of the fun of reading this blog and no different to rumours about transfers and people seeing players at the airport etc. I’m an adult I know most of it will not happen but it’s fun to read and I won’t throw myself under a bus if it doesn’t happen!

A quick line regarding my leaked fake takeover message pertaining to me being your preferred (pretend) bidder. I think we’ve pulled it off with those thick geordies as the transfer window is almost closed. Do I need to do any more at this stage? should I keep schtum about you keeping all the advertising and merchandising and draft something about me re-visiting the situation in the summer, along with the other 3 (pretend) groups. You have got my Swiss bank account details haven’t you Mike or do I need to see Justin about that?
Best wishes
Peter

Comment #7Mike is apparently doing the minimum expected of owners!!
Maybe the FA should look into what owners are doing in terms of investing the in club such as facilities , youth development etc rather than blaming johnny foreigner all the time !

Comment #10A real kick-off delaying protest against Ashley’s S****e Direct tomorrow could make it at least a moral victory for the fans and Rafa. Its the only victory we’re likely to get. Choose your weapons…tennis balls, chocolate money or Greggs rolls for the FCB and get coverage focused on the way this club has been mismanaged and disrespected for nearly 13 year. For those preparing not to go, which is understandable, its better still to go and walk out. Anyway, do what you want to do and make your voices heard best you can, but please don’t just sit there watching in silence with long faces because we are losing so the commentators can just lament the lack of atmosphere.

Comment #11Unfortunately it looks like the ONLY thing that MA cares about is his own pocket. Protests outside of SD in Newcastle are merely a nuisance for him.
Perhaps the best way to get to him would be to call for a national and public boycott of ALL his stores. I’m sure most true soccer fans would voice their support, and [perhaps sports fans in general.
What MA’s doing for the club may be legal, but nothing short of criminal. It looks like our best bet might be to just make it so uncomfortable for him and help drive financial loss in a more holistic manner.
If fans around the country could help us on a united front I think the mounting pressure might get to him. Let’s at least consider if not spread the idea.
