Lascelles Reveals Why He Has Apologized To Martin Dubravka

The Newcastle squad spent five days in Spain, and it seems it was a very successful trip and the lads got through a lot of training under Rafa and his coaching team.

We hope we don’t have one of these next year at this time, because it would mean we were in the 5th round of the FA Cup.

Watford beat QPR 1-0 away yesterday to get through to the quarter-finals.

Watford beat us 2-0 at home with their second team in the 4th round – the furthest we have reached with Mike Ashley as the owner.

There mustn’t be much money to be made in the FA Cup – or at least that’s what Ashley thinks.

It was a positive trip to Spain this last week during which the team spirit and camaraderie has only increased in the squad.

Martin Dubravka – “Suddenly, I was blind

And Jamaal Lascelles had this to say in today’s Sunday Sun – in an exclusive – and he starts off by talking about the late soul-destroying goal in the 1-1 draw at Wolves:

“I spoke to Martin and I apologized for my reaction at the time.”

“At the time I just thought he’d headed it in but look back and the camera shows as clear as anything it was a foul.”

“He (Willy Boly) had both of his arms around his neck and pulled him back.” (very true)

“In Spain that would be a foul straight away, in England you don’t get it. Maybe VAR needs to be introduced.” (it will be – next season in the PL)

“It was a bad decision from the ref and that sort of thing should not determine us losing two points. Ultimately those points are crucial.”

“Those two points could be the difference for us this season and the only problem has been, not from us, from a bad decision.”

“We’re all disappointed but as sportsmen you have to take it on the chin.”

“Maybe we need to block the runners in a situation like that next time and help Martin out more.”

We have had very little luck with the referee this season or last season.

But maybe in the 12 game run-in to the season, we will have more luck.

We’re sure Rafa wants to beat the 44 points we achieved last season.

That will be his initial goal and to do that we need seven wins in the final 12 games and we can lose the other five.

We can do it!

Comments welcome.

Spot on from Jamaal (about time he put the record straight)
It’s actually a very clever foul. Makes it look nowt. When you see how Dubs ends up on his back from that jump and the angle Boly is into him, knees in his back..only then do you appreciate its at leas 2 fouls in one.
Jamaal is right, he and Schar caught ball watching instead of blocking off the incoming Boly.

I’m amazed that after nearly a week I’m still as p!ssed off about that non-call by the refs as I was at the time! And going on 6 years since an opposing player has been sent off against Newcastle. Bias? Yep!

    Its quite simple

The prem dont want MA in their league

He is taking money out of football to fund his tat shops and has us running as a zombie advert

We dont add anything too the brand, just take.

We are always going to get duff refs and poor fixtures while he still owns us,they want him gone.

Have to say as it happened I thought it was a goal. Dup wasn’t competing properly and body language was wrong if u know what I mean. Sickening though because we looked good at tjmes.

Its club policy to not compete
    To not invest in anything

We are a zombie club who exists to help fund another company and to provide free adverts

    What we know

    1. Mike Ashley business strategy for Newcastle United is to invest less in our playing squad than other clubs in the same division do

    2. There is a contract offer on the table that Rafa has rejected

    3. Rafa wants a legally binding agreement in a new contract to ensure funds are released to allow us to be competitive in the transfer market

So if we consider points 1 and 3. We can infer no new contract will be drawn up therefore Rafa will leave the club when his current contract expires this June.

Tell ya what lads, next time there’s a dearth of football in the leagues, and little other sport to get excited about… Have a look at some of the local non league fixtures.
I’m aware lots of folk possibly already do the above, but I’m glad I had a look out to Consett at home to Dunston yesterday. Nice little relatively new ground, canny craic, facilities and crowd, £6 in and the football was cracking! Still Baltic like…never be fooled by the sun in Consett! 🙂

@ sing in the corner have a look at Spennymoor, now third in the league, two games in hand. highest goal scorer on 22 goals for season so far, Glen Taylor. Playing great football.

This is self-pitying beyond belief! “Refs give us nowt ‘cos MA’s taking money out of the game”. How deluded can you get? For heaven’s sake, gentlemen, get your heads out of your own backsides MA is running NUFC financially brilliant, and we fans all hate it. That makes sense. But to claim refs are agin us because of this is just madness. Rafa will ensure we finish round about 12th, maybe better (?) while everyone else in the EPL splashes millions upon millions more than MA. Why would he (MA) not like that? Why would he not consider this a great business success? Obviously we all hate it because we want to win things, which is what the sport of football is all geared around. That’s what we’ve all been brought up on. But the EPL isn’t anything to do with sport,is it? It’s all £££££££. During Chelsea’s great years financed by illegal Russki cash, they made huge financial losses every single year. The whole thing is madness, But to reckon refs are up to skullduggery against NUFC is ridiculous and deeply demeaning of refs’ integrity. They make mistakes, as do you and I, that’s the human condition, but, honestly,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Elias Sorensen’s Blackpool woes have worsened this weekend, with the NUFC loanee failing to be even make their squad yesterday – and he’s now been spotted on a train heading back to Newcastle last night.

He’s been given 32 minutes playing time in 5 matches. Hardly work experience more like a seaside holiday. Let him have some time with Carlisle United to get them promotion and derby games against the Mackems if they’re still stuck in Division One next season.

Do you also think all of those years of shoddy refs and terrible decisions against us is just bad luck ?
For something like 6 years ?
And the fixture list is just bad luck, almost every season ?

    Really ?
