There will not be too many Newcastle fans argue with St. James’ Park being ranked in the Premier league as the stadium with the best atmosphere during a game.
Now we need a team playing there that is one of the best teams in the Premier League and it’s been far too long since we had a team like that.
Sir Bobby Robson had us in 4th, 3rd and 5th position in the Premier League in his last three seasons as Newcastle manager- 2001-2002, 2002-2003 and 2003-2004.
And then he was fired in late August 2004.
The Premier League grounds have been ranked in order of best atmosphere.
11-20:
11. Goodison Park
12. Vicarage Road
13. Turf Moor
14. The Vitality
15. The Etihad
16. Old Trafford
17. Cardiff City Stadium
18. The Emirates
19. London Stadium
20. Tottenham Hotspur Stadium pic.twitter.com/yLWLhnTUOe— bet365 (@bet365) February 20, 2019

Comment #6the atmosphere in the ground is far better than some on here like to make out, most of them are only watching the games on a tv anyway.
with sky monitoring the volume of the home fans but more particularly that of the away fans were they can fade in sound from the producers designated parts of the ground to suit his agenda with strategically placed mic’s

Comment #10When yer in the ground during a match just cup your hands behind your ears and listen ..the noise is excruciating, even with just the general hubbub … serious .
The way the ground is built with the Gallowgate having the lower roof effects the acoustics greatly . Sound escapes but you can capture that swirling sound even when there is no action and the crowd is relatively passive . You get so used to the general sound in StJames’ Park that your ears don’t discern untill noise levels go up a notch but it’s a bloody noisy noise floor at all times.
I know a bit about decibels .

i thought it must be a record last post was about 10.50 last night round to 7.30 is unreal
i am sure it will pick up closer to the match at the weekend
with a few players coming back from injury i hope longstaff keeps the shirt he has earned it and as he could be a player we build around for next season the more he plays the better
hopefully almiron will start if not he has to get 30 odd mins
as for beraca i know nowt about him is the fact we loaned an indicator that he is just squad filler or does he have the potential

Comment #29Beer… Yeah it hit home how bad it is on the long breaks when I seen that.
I think Longstaff has earned his shirt now and he’s done nothing to lose it, however it would be unfair but I’d like to see Ki come in beside him instead of Hayden, Ki just makes things happen imo, Longstaff can do Diame’s job better than Diame does, he’s certainly more consistent. I’d be gutted if Longstaff loses his spot, he’s been brilliant to date, not put a foot wrong

Online’s hit the nail on the head – the number of individual posters is reducing by the day. Even the nightshift was dead this morning and that speaks volumes – no overseas posters and no Online who’s a night owl.
There are some super people who post on here but their quality posts are outweighed by the few who post under various names manifesting arrogance, ignorance using foul and abudive language that probably reflects their opinion of themselves! They, are the problem and it’ll not be long until those few multiples are talking to themselves!
Having been accessing this site since in early days, I know that number of decent posters, including many of whom have been around for years, have bailed out. A small number of ’em have stayed on and I’m sure they’ll confirm that this blog has gone down hill at a rate of knots. A shame but there it is.
