There will not be too many Newcastle fans argue with St. James’ Park being ranked in the Premier league as the stadium with the best atmosphere during a game.
Now we need a team playing there that is one of the best teams in the Premier League and it’s been far too long since we had a team like that.
Sir Bobby Robson had us in 4th, 3rd and 5th position in the Premier League in his last three seasons as Newcastle manager- 2001-2002, 2002-2003 and 2003-2004.
And then he was fired in late August 2004.
The Premier League grounds have been ranked in order of best atmosphere.
11-20:
11. Goodison Park
12. Vicarage Road
13. Turf Moor
14. The Vitality
15. The Etihad
16. Old Trafford
17. Cardiff City Stadium
18. The Emirates
19. London Stadium
20. Tottenham Hotspur Stadium pic.twitter.com/yLWLhnTUOe— bet365 (@bet365) February 20, 2019

Comment #81Oops Robleenio where did I suggest otherwise? I’m just qualifying that, even as an Englishman, I can vouch for the fatally stultifying effects of cricket and cricket-based pursuits, “interests”, its chattels and paraphernalia and what-have-you.

Comment #82Can’t wait for the game on Saturday. Something to discuss on the blog. I don’t mind your political post Lesh. I used to be a Leftie not bothered now they’re all same. Got to get the win over Huddersfield. Hope Raffa starts with Almiron. That will lift the Atmosphere.

Comment #85Do y’all get John Oliver’s “Last Week Tonight” show over there in the UK. He had a nice piece on Brexit. Nice jam you lads find yourselves in! Glad we only have to worry about orange headed lunatics over here!

Comment #92Have a feeling that Rafa is going to start Almiron, but is going to be rather strict with taking him off at 60 to be replaced by Perez.

Yedlin Schar Lascelles Lejeune Ritchie
Ki Longstaff Hayden
Almiron Atsu
Rondon
Bench: Darlow, Dummett, Fernandez, Barreca, Diame, Perez, Kenedy

Comment #98Yeah, tricky. I’m not entirely happy with my bench, but I’m thinking Atsu is ahead of Kenedy, and a fit Diame ahead of Hayden, and can’t find a place for Dummett or Barreca, because Manqillo can cover both sides. Muto? We’re at home.

Comment #100HAHAHAHAHAH…basic maths is difficult for me gents. With that being said, I would probably drop Atsu to the bench and replace Kenedy, Dummett, or Barreca. (if Dummett is not fully fit, that’s an easy one)

The UK pro Brexit headbangers are supported by your very own orange headed one. The worry is that the ordinary people who support their champions just can’t see what’s going on – they’re like turkeys voting for Christmas and when they finally wake up, they’ll feel their necks being pulled!.

The crazy thing and point John Oliver meant is that likely a solid majority (if more recent polls are to be believed) would now vote to ‘stay’, especially now understanding more fully the consequences of such an action. So odd for such a huge change being made on the basis of one referendum, rife with disinformation and misleading claims!
Why not a second referendum? Why strap yourselves into the seat of a truck and hurtle on mindlessly over a cliff most everyone now see clearly ahead?!!!
(Really sorry Jane and Ed!)

Comment #104Just a reminder that our form over the last 5,10,15 and 20 games has us sitting no lower than twelfth, which is where we are most likely to finish, so long as Rondon stays fit.

Comment #105Ashley really did believe he had the perfect manager, from his perspective. Will keep us up with minimal spend. He still thinks he won’t walk away from 6 million quid a year, but of course, he will, if he isn’t given the right guarantees. Love that Rafa hasn’t signed, and will go toe to toe with the owner till the very end. I still think Ashley will blink first.

Comment #113In September 2016, Mancunian Dave Forsey unexpectedly
resigned as CEO, after 32 years with Sports Direct , he was
the man responsible for paying below the minimum wage for
years. Ashley actually back-dated payments to zero hours
workers to the tune of nearly £60m.

Comment #114I’ve said it before and it bears repeating
Mike Ashley is one of the worst PL owners
ever.
I’d love to see him either take a back seat
and delegate to someone who knows footy
or sell up.
However
Repeating patent lies about his business
practises just makes those who do so look
foolish.

Stealing is illegal, he is legally taking a lot more money out than he is putting back in, we have the third lowest wage bill now and the fourth least valuable squad yet are ranked eight richest in the PL, the money is going somewhere.

Comment #119We managed for years to pay the top wages, attract the best players and build a fantastic stadium until making too many managerial mistakes and costly sackings along with their players got the better of us. we managed to do all this without going bust while the owners made a nice few quid for themselves. Fortunes have been made on cheap imports while maintaining a rigid wage structure yet we are were we are, where is the money going???
