It seems that Rafa is not going to make any significant changes to the winning team we have in place at the moment.
Newcastle have taken a good 13 points out of our last six games, and they have included games against Man City, Tottenham, and Wolves.
This afternoon we face a good test against West Ham at the London Stadium.
Rafa rested DeAndre Yedlin n Tuesday night in the 2-0 win at home to Burnley, and we expect the American to return to the side as the only change.
Javier Manquillo came in, and he played well against Burnley – Javier is better as a wing back than as a full back, and he got an assist for Fabian Schar’s fantastic goal.
Jonjo Shelvey is not available having played at Fulham for the U23 team last night to get in some match practice, and he scored the only goal of the game with a header after 61 minutes.
DeAndre Yedlin – likely to return this afternoon
So here is the most likely Newcastle team for this afternoon’s game in London in a 3-4-3 formation.
Dubravka
Schar Lascelles (c) Lejeune
Yedlin Hayden Longstaff Ritchie
Perez Rondon Almiron
THat team has played so well of late, and we’re hoping for all 3 points this afternoon but to do that Newcastle will have to be close to their best.
Comments welcome.

Direct debits to the club have stopped?? That is odd if correct. I’ve no idea what conspiracy theory could be attached to it – surely any new owner would be obligated to uphold any agreement or to at least notify of changes in advance. So, unless Charnley has decided to screw Ashley over and stop cash flow to his boss, or Ashley has woken up benevolent, then it makes no sense.
I’d guess the DD will probably come out Monday and no conspiracy to see.

What do you think of the Genk/Tanzania striker Mbwana Samatta – a good purchase for NUFC?

Comment #3Yeah Lilongwe, it was a weird one, loads of people (on Twitter admittedly) said yesterday that their DDs for STs had not left their account. The usual speculations of a sale or a change of some description being made, just wanted to see if anyone on the “bored” had noticed that.

Honestly, can’t tell you a huge amount about him. I’ve seen him play once vs Malawi. I know he scored in the first game in Tanzania, but he was pretty dire in Malawi, and I’ve played against a number of Malawi internationals and we are talking Northern league sort of level.
He’s clearly better than he showed that day, and he has a very good record in Belgium and a solid base at Mazembe who actually do have good facilities and are the upper tier or African football.
It would be a no for me, but I haven’t seen enough to really be fair to him.

It seems weird if DD’s haven’t gone through. Not sure what it could mean at all. Don’t see it being linked to a sale though. Sadly.

Comment #7DDs not going through might be a software cock-up by NUFC. February was a 28 day month.
However, the way the club’s being run on the cheap, it’s probably just sloppy process management!
