Sky Sports Pundit Predicts West Ham vs Newcastle Result

Paul Merson has been accurate over the last two Newcastle games predicting wins for the Magpies, and we did that with 2-0 wins at home against both Huddersfield and Burnley.

That has helped lift some of the anxiety among Newcastle fans, and it’s been replaced with real hope that we can have a good run-in to the season and maybe even finish in the top 10 again.

West Ham are currently 5 points and three places above Newcastle in the league table so a win this afternoon will take us within 2 points of the Hammers.

Paul Merson – I don’t see Newcastle losing this game

This is what Paul has said about the game:

“Newcastle have turned the corner, they’re quite entertaining with three up front. Almiron looks a proper player, really quick and lively.”

“From Benitez being a manager who makes sure they don’t lose, he’s now going out with Almiron, Rondon and Perez and can have a go at teams.”

“I’ll go for a draw here, I don’t see Newcastle losing this game.”

Prediction: 1-1.

Good comments there from Merson.

Newcastle fans think the most likely result is another Newcastle win and that would be three wins in a row and we’d be flying high.

    Tsunki,
No reason we can’t win, we’re playing well, look solid and Almiron has given us a new lease of life going forwards. Even if their game plan is to nobble him, just trying to creates the space for others to take advantage.

I’m sorry to say that I agree with Merson and reckon it will be a draw, but then I’ve also had a drink last night, so maybe that’s why!

This is one of those games where no result would be a surprise.

I could have done with your bag of punctuation…. ‘just trying to, crates space for others’…

I’m going for a draw or win once we don’t start badly. Rafa has the shape of the team the way he wants and almirons pace and vision will keep West ham honest. Two pacy wingbacks in the summer and a fully fit team will worry most. Wud love to beat the dildo brothers.

If we score first I think we’ll win. If they do…..well we have a poor record of coming from behind
