Newcastle Tracking 19-Year-Old Italian Wonder Kid

Newcastle United are reported to be interested in signing 19-year-old Italy U21 midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo who has played at Roma since last summer.

Reports coming out of Italy say that Newcastle United scouts have been watching the left-footed attacking midfielder who is one of the top young talents in Italian football.

Zaniolo joined Roma from Inter last summer in a swap deal involving former Newcastle left-back and the 19-year-old – for Radja Nainggolan.

However, with his excellent form this season for Roma, there have been questions about how the Milan club only valued Zaniolo at €4.5M in that deal that saw him leave Milan.

But it’s too late now with the teenager looking like an excellent prospect at Roma.

The 6ft 3ins tall (it’s those hamburgers I tell you) midfield player has played 27 games in total for Roma this season and has scored 5 goals and has 2 assists.

He’s a top teenager, and the type of younger Newcastle should be trying to sign this summer – if we can get him.

But why would Roma sell him this summer – well – except for a very high transfer fee?

Nicolo Zaniolo never played for the Inter-Milan first team, and he has played for the Italy U18, U19, and 4 times for the U21 side.

He made his debut for the Italy U21 team only last October, in a friendly match against Belgium.

What do you think?

Comments welcome.

A Shelvey with a point to prove with a more attacking formation could just be what the team needs

He has never really had a team with 2 wingbacks and a front 3 of Rondon , Perez and Almiron to hit with lovely passes its always been just one or two players so it will be interesting to see how he does

Bournemouth will be difficult though they have a few attacking players who would be great in our team especially Fraser and Wilson

Sorry, Ed – more chance of the fat man spontaneously combusting in a UAE hotel bar whilst shouting “Long Live The Mansours” than of us signing this kid.

The Italians would see it as a National travesty if he was to leave the country for greener pastures. He’s being groomed to be the next big thing in Italian football.

Clearly jonjo is upset and this could translate on the pitch in two ways, one positive, one negative.

    Hope it’s the former.

If he’s a wonderkid then there will be 20 top clubs tracking him also. If he’s good enough one of them will snatch him up.

Yes cyprus, very good! But one of those 20 clubs has the world’s most greedy Billionaire running them like a back street operation.

Still if he’s that good I hope you’re right. How is Sorensen doing at Blackpool by the way? Seems like a strange place to send such a promising youngster with all their troubles.

As OLG alluded to the other day it is nothing short of scandalous the number of decisions, seemingly almost every single game, that have gone against us this season. The 2 Boly incidents stick out the most, as does the pen not given at OT.
    It’s almost a bit sinister

Newcastle are also tracking an asteroid that will miss St James be 100 million miles, they sent scouts but the scouts didn’t like the atmosphere.
So they went to Italy where the atmosphere is a little more friendly.

Mikey doesn’t pay scouts to fly to other countries to watch players when the internet is handy. It would be ridiculous to spend all that lovely lolly. Harrumph!!!

We’re also tracing The Great Azam! He’s a hypnotist who is going to hypnotize Ashley and Lee Chubley and get them to actually spend some money on good players. Don’t laugh, it could work!

If they are asking more than 50p and a packet of swizzels , Mikey is out, unless of course , we can get him on loan in a try before you buy……..seems more likely but why ,if hes doing well would they loan him to a scheister like Mikey?

Its not just the Russians, its the Premier league and FA, trying their best to get us relegated again, they hate the fact that Mikey is raking the money in and buying players for next to nothing (or borrowing money to pay for them)

G2, you’re too late – she’s already been hypnotised by Farage, otherwise why would she allow Jacob Rees-Mogg to continue to breathe?

I mean the guy doesn’t even like football.

Phew, I might have got away with it.

Just thinking aboot this plot against us makes my blood boil. What is it going to be next? No flag linesmen? Disappearing ref whistles? I just don’t get it. Why don’t we get some decent calls? That was a card on Pickford every day of the week.

Will it be any better with VAR though?
Same referees will be making the decisions and getting it wrong even with 30 angles of view, mainly because they favour the big clubs and are scared to death in case they upset one of them by giving a wrong decision to an opponent……its a disgrace that there are only about 3 referees with credibility now, and 2 of them are from up here so we dont get them at our games, yet we get referees from 6 mile outside of Manchester refereeing games down there………corruption corrupts

I think its about time there was a european pool of referees, no ref can referee in their own country and no ref can referee the same team twice in a season, no favouritism and no big team bias……..

So this is a definite cabal then. We’re looking at complete corruption of the refs and linesmen. A parliamentary investigation is needed. Followed by a look into this FA organization. Have they been penetrated by Mossad? I don’t like this selection of refs from areas near Manchester in particular. Possibly a job for Jacob Moist-Rag…Hmmmm.
