Delighted Newcastle Fans Have Their Say – Away Support Incredible

Newcastle fans took to Twitter following our great 1-0 win at Leicester City last night breaking their four-game winning streak under new manager Brendan Rodgers.

It was another masterclass from Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez who was interviewed on the touchline after the game by Sky Sports’ pundit and Rafa’s former player  Jamie Carragher – and others.

Rafa was in his element during the interview and it’s no wonder he and Newcastle are in demand on TV.

Rafa can talk about football for hours and hours much like Sir Bobby Robson and we hear an experienced manager who knows what he’s talking about and knows what it takes to win in football.

He’s very much like Sir Bobby.

Here are some tweets from Newcastle fans and some videos of the Newcastle fans last night at the away end of the King Power Stadium.

    With Bet 365.
We are now 300/1 to get relegated.
    It’s getting better.
Time for a big hitter to step in and buy us.
    Prem status nearly assured.

    I worked with a mackems
    A sensible one
He never ever forgave Coventry for that game where them and another team kicked of late.
    Knew sunderland result
    Then passed it around
Both teams happy with a draw knowing they would both stay up

Didn’t Austria and Germany do that at the world cup once prompting a change in the kick off times.

So Cardiff need to win four out of five or draw two and win three while we lose all our remaining games, there’s an outside chance Brighton might get sucked in if Cardiff beat them but not in a million years we can go down this year. The Debenhams fiasco seems over and Rafa has outlined his terms. There can be no reason or excuse if Rafa hasn’t signed up by the time Soton visit.

Lascelles didn’t get many votes but I thought he was solid against Leicester.

I liked the part during Rafas interview where he referred to him as ‘He is a big lad’

Hasn’t had the season of last year but he is still one of the first names on the team sheet.

    Enjoy your evening you lot

All this fuss and bother from Chumpley about how the TV money is paid. So we don’t get it in the summer in one large lump? So what? We do get it spread out and that isn’t a problem. Every club is paid the same way. It’s not some big disadvantage to us. What a whiner. Same old same old. The operating costs are smaller than the incoming total revenue. We operate in the black. That’s good as far as it goes but how far int the black? And we have made an enormous amount in player sales over Ashley’s tenure. Spend more and we’ll earn more Chumpley. And we won’t spend nearly the entire season worried about relegation. It’s not rocket science fool.

Just a tremendous team performance yesterday. Rafa knows how to build a team. Are we going to lose him this summer? I just can’t see Bobo the Clown giving in and letting Rafa build something special. Bobo likes to play on the margins. It never changes.

We’ve been kind of safe for a while now, if a new deal was going to happen it would have been done by now.

It would be more stupid than a ‘stupid thing’ if Ash was to let Rafa leave.

We have a fantastic goalkeeper, the best defence I can remember, in midfield we have a young lad who looks as though he could become an international regular, a cracking winger has just lit up this team.

Rafa has the nucleus of a very good team, just need the three players to create and score more goals that will take us up the league.

If a new manager was to come in you will bet your last can of Kestrel lager he will want his own team, wont want Rafas.

This will cause more grief and cost Ash more money than it would to just back Rafa now.

I posted yesterday about a possibility that Rondon’s permanent contract is contingent on him hitting certain goal scoring targets.

I wonder if Rafa’s new contract is contingent on him securing Premier League football for next season.

Is it possible we’re reading the situation wrong here and when Rafa says ‘we’ll talk about it when we’re safe’ what he’s actually saying is ‘it will be sorted when we are mathematically safe and not before’ and when he says ‘It’s in the hands of the club’ he’s actually saying ‘it’s already tied up, I’m just waiting for the moment when we can actually announce it.’

After all, a normal company gives new contracts based on targets being hit, why not Ashley’s NUFC also?

Unless Knockaert’s suspension is more than 3 games, his first game back from suspension will be against us. Brighton have their 2 games in hand to play (spurs, cardiff) before they face us plus their normal match (wolves) on the weekend coming up.

Thought we’d suffer more noticeably without Lejeune, but Dummett was rock solid. Manquillo also did well in place of Yedlin. Seems we actually benefited by having a bit more defensively and neither Yedlin nor Lejeune were particularly missed on the day. Big Lejeune fan, but also increasingly like Manquillo, and Dummett never ever lets us down and quite often excels nowadays.

Ian Wright stepping in for Shearer and giving Rafa the plaudits, saying he deserves better support from the club.

It’s what we all know, it’s good to hear a neutral voice telling the entire nation exactly what Ashley has wrought on our club.

Lineker “Rafa’s out of contract this Summer, surely they’ll be desperate to keep him”

You’d think so, wouldn’t you? Ashley, make it so!

What may have a big effect on Rafa’s thinking
is his situation at Liverpool in 2010.
After arguments over transfer funds with the owners
and a pretty average season RB left with a £6M payoff
in June – by October Fenway Sports had ousted Gillett
    and Hicks and taken over.
John Henry has been quoted as saying if the Spaniard had
still been in place they would have kept him on.

Now that we are all but safe after Cardiff’s defeat
we could see some players who will be moving on
being put in the last 4 shop windows of the season.
Having a player who knows he is being sold is all
    the motivation needed.

Liverpool on Sky tea-time Sunday 5th May competing
for the title would be a great time to play them.

MOTD goes out all over the world, let’s just hope there is something going on and we can get rid of the parasite.

Ha that reminds me of a 5 a side tournament I played in in he 90s.
One of our better players crumpled in a heap in the first few minutes after a tackle.
I jogged over and grabbed his forearm to pull him to his feet. Saying the encouraging words ‘Howay man Andy, run it off!’

Then I noticed his knee cap was round the side instead of in the middle..

If he’s so desperate to sell why not just offer Rafa what he wants. He’s got no intention of selling and is looking forward to having some yes man have the likes of Sissoko and Cabaye offloaded on him while delivering the thrill of a relegation battle. In an ideal world he’d rather that yes man was Rafa, but it’s a situation where he can’t have his cake and eat it.
