Newcastle’s League Position, Upcoming Three Games – And Goalscorers

We did ourselves a lot of good by winning the last two games at Leicester and at home to Southampton.

Both games looked difficult after we surprisingly were beaten at home by Crystal Palace and we did great to get all 6 points.

That has taken us to safety on 41 points, and we need 4 points in our final three games to beat last year’s points total of 44 points.

But it seems the best we can do in the table is to finish 11th – one place lower than last season.

Rafa Benitez – upbeat with thumbs-up

Here’s our league position after yesterday 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge between Chelsea and Burnley – a good point by Burnley.

18Cardiff38-3534

And here are the three remaining games with Liverpool at home looking like a real corker!

Chutneys statement of getting players not involved on the books is double speak for we’re going back to that successful purple policy that seen us finish fifth. Ashley will still be fuming that Hsnley and Gamez were bought and Dummet and Clarke never even got injured.

    Optimistic,

I’m not sure Charnley has had a pay rise per se…….the wording in the accounts makes it appear as if he got 150k salary plus 150k bonus

    Op,

I never tried to justify the reason for the bonus – that would be silly of me……and would undoubtedly result in a rendition of the frog chorus

    😀

I understand the need to move players on it’s part of football, seems strange high earners are mentioned.

Not sure what it means as we dont pay high wages so to speak, the thing we need to stop doing is giving players like Colback 6yr deals.

I doubt he’s that high a earner if you look at average prem wages but we’ve paid him for 3 years for doing nowt. We may have recouped some of that money but in reality the clubs wasting money.

Personally I’d give Colback a free just to get rid, plus anyone else in a similar situation. There should already be free squad places as a few of the bairns aren’t being kept on and Kenedy and Rondon will be gone.

However speculation on incomings and outgoings is pure fantasy as we have no idea if Rafa will be the gaffa or if Ashley (please do one) will still be owner next season.

Very interesting month or so coming up, hopefully we’ll all be pleasantly surprised.

AC Milan manager Gennaro Gattuso recently met with super-agent Jorge Mendes for dinner, where they discussed the possibility of him replacing Rafa Benitez at Newcastle United.

Jorge Mendes is really close to Peter Lim the
    owner of Valencia.

Marcelino the Valencia manager’s contract expires next month
Perhaps there’s going to be a managerial
    merry-go-round this summer

Ashley has never liked paying players big wages for doing nothing and in a roundabout way you can kind of agree with him Colback was on 50k a week just to mess about with the reserves before going out on loan!

Waste does happen in a football club its just one of those things but if you can get a good squad of 25 with youngsters around them you can be competitive for the whole season which would mean a higher place in the table with more prize money negating the extra wages?!?

Charnley fails to mention that a lot of the players sitting doing nothing were previous players who haven’t made the grade or fallen out with the manager etc !

We have to be the leanest run club though once we get rid of Colback , Lazaar and a few others this summer there should be enormous wiggle room in the wage budget !!

I’m now quite optimistic that we’ll be in the Prem and that we’ll have a manager or head coach next season. Everything else is up in the air. Just the way Ashley likes it (uh huh uh huh)….

Enormous wiggle room in the wage budget Lee Charnley? Only if we get an owner who knows what he’s doing. As it stands we have a pinhead who thinks 12th place is better than 6th place because that way we won’t have to worry about competing in Europe.

Bollocks baffles brains. If you listen to Lee and Mike enough you will end up a simpering idiot. Neither of them has a clue about running the club. Nor do the other sycophantic hangers on.

We could do a lot worse than Gennaro Cattuso
His record at AC Milan is OK at a notoriously
    difficult club to manage.
He speaks canny English (he has a Scottish/Canadian wife)
He’s a fiery character – the fans would love him.

Totally with you on that one, how can anyone say, oh, this guy might do okay or that guy is used to working on a shoestring, there is no point to it all other than to line Ashley’s pockets and advertise his tat. I’ve said it time and time again, if this new guy is any good we’ll get two seasons out of him a d back to square one, if he’s not he’ll relegate us.

If I recall correctly, someone before mentioned that Charnley is a director of multiple companies and NUFC is just the main full time role. He’ll get his 150K or 300K per annum from NUFC but he’ll likely also draw a token salary for each directorship on top plus any bonuses Ashley pays him.
