Newcastle are being linked with French striker Remi Oudin, and we have made a formal approach for the player.
That’s the story in L’Equipe today with two other clubs also making an approach for the Reims 22-year-old striker.
He has been dubbed in French football as the next Robin van Persie, with Reims reported willing to sell between €14M and €15M.
While formal approaches have been made no concrete offers have yet been made for the young striker with Watford and Italian club Fiorentina also interested in the Reims striker.
He has played for Reims over the last two seasons and has a record of 88 games played, 21 goals and 12 assists.
So it looks like he can both score and make goals.
Just what we need.
This season he has scored 10 goals and has 3 assists in 34 Ligue 1 games.
The news in L’Equipe is that a bid of around £10M would likely be enough to secure the services of one of the best up-and-coming Players in French Football.
He is nicknamed “Robin” by his teammates for the way his play resembles that of former Dutch international Robin van Persie.
Oudin has been one reason Stade Reims have done so well this season in Ligue 1 – lying in 9th place at the moment.
He has improved his finishing in a team that doesn’t create many chances but defends solidly and the defense is their strength having conceded only 38 goals in their 35 games.
On the other hand, they have only scored 33 goals.
Sounds like another team we know.
